Windows 8.1 does not work well with BlackBerry OS. 10.3.1. Especially with BlackBerry Link.
Use Windows 7 or XP. They work fine.

Yes, very usefull post: BlackBerry doesn't like your wife, change her. Really ?

Change your entire environment because BlackBerry is unable to properly deliver a bug free OS update.

I don't agree that the problem is with the OP. There is something work with connectivity in Link. Check the link section, you'll see numerous post discussing the problems people are experiencing with Link (including mine). None of the fixes suggested in this thread or the others work.
    Blackberry needs to fix this.

Just because there are numerous posts about an issue does not mean anything. It could numerous new users unfamiliar with BlackBerry OS. Just as most burgers eaten are Mcdonald 's does not make a Mcdonald burger any good....

Agreed could be a lot of new users however, if you read the post as I have you will discover factually that most of the post are not from newbies. They are the same as myself, users of BB phones for years. Read the post.

Bblink is problematic. While it might be THIS user, the software needs improvement. Uninstall, reinstall, deinstall... it is a pain.

I had the same issue. When I connected via USB, it prompted to install drivers , even though it had been connected before, but wouldn't recognize the phone over USB. I rebooted my pc with the phone still attached to the USB cable, and when it came back up, it recognized my phone. I think I just got lucky though.

I have tried everything mentioned here in the forums, reboots, uninstalls, removing all apps etc, I still can't back up.

This should be the most important thing in not losing your data.

It has been way too long since the release of the latest software version, this problem should have been fixed.
