I'm asking because I'm using my z30 running if a Hotspot that my 9900 on bis is on and I get these speeds (upload usually a bit higher but I was in a bar at that moment. ) kinda makes 4g not necessary.
    What's 3g speed like in your area?-img_00000245.png

Z30, and yes, it's a bit on the heavy side..., but the Carbonate case is Killer!

Depending on where you are in the world, your carrier of choice may be running HSPA-DC, which has peak output of 42 mbps. The big difference between this and LTE, besides the extra 28 mbps, is the latency, but even then it isn't exactly night and day for the average user with real world usage.

And depending where you are and the amount of data that's affordable makes LTE unnecessary. Around 10$ for 1GB data :/

It looks like on HSPA-DC (faux G) I get 6-7 mbps down link speeds at full bars, while my LTE gets 7-8 mbps with one bar of coverage... if they could make LTE signal penetrate better, speeds would be much better I'm sure.

Jeez that's slow! HSPA+ here is around 15-20mpbs and LTE is around 30-50mbps! Where are you located and how low is your signal??

Toronto Canada. My building is notorious for low signal quality from my carrier though and it is a fairly heavily used cell site so I'm not entirely surprised....

Rogers runs LTE Max on 2600 mHz spectrum, which has peak theoretical throughput of 100 mbps. Telus uses AWS 1700/2100 for LTE service, which may be part of what's going on and why I don't have the same super high speeds as others. I will do a test outside later this evening after I finish up at work.

Honestly though either one is fast enough that I am rarely left waiting for anything to download when going over the network. I am using that native speed test application though rather than the Android port you guys seem to be using.
