Just ordered a new unlocked sim free UK Z30 for 186 with vat and should be delivered early next week.
Now i know it will have to be updated but not sure which OS it will be, my Z10 OS was updated to 10.3.1.2576,will the Z30 be updated to the same OS version or a different OS? I am on O2 UK so is this carrier dependant or is it best to update using Link with no sim card in phone.
Also if it is a different OS to the Z10 which runs perfect with the 10.3.1.2576 will it cause problems with transfer of apps via link to Z30 or is it better to download them all from BB world again onto Z30 incase some of the apps cause problems being tansfered from Z10 backup via link.
Im leaning towards downloading the apps from BB world after update.

There should not be any app issues in your transfer. My process always is an OS install first and then restore from backup. Installing apps from BlackBerry is a but more clean and may reduce the chance of problems. Enjoy that fine new phone.

I just recently purchase a Z30 from BlackBerry to be used in USA on AT&T. When I turned it on - after putting in the sim and SD cards - I was notified of an update. I am now running 10.3.1.1784 (OS version 10.3.1.2582). I was transferring from a Z10 with 10.3.1.1779 installed.
What I did was a full back-up of my Z10 via Link. While doing that I went into the BlackBerry world on my Z30 and installed all the apps I could remember using on my Z10. After the Z10 was backed up I did a custom restore to the Z30 just picking the Media and Settings - skipped Apps. Everything loaded up great - even some apps I missed originally and Android apps. All my data was in place. It was the smoothest transition I've ever done. I just had to put in passwords for my email and social media accounts and install Snap. I also needed to set permissions on each app the first time you run it.

    Hi,

I recently did the same thing - today is my first full day with my new Z30!

It updated itself from 10.2.0.xxx (I forget the exact version) to 10.3.1.1767

I'm on 3 but I suspect that O2 will be similar.
