Why does the default maps not support walking directions ? Only driving? Sure made walking around in a city like Hong Kong worthless as it would just give looped driving instructions. Does anyone suggest a better map app?

There are a bunch that use google maps but none which are real time turn by turn with auto updating location as I move.

Have only used it once in New Delhi, to walk around those hodge podge markets, worked all right.

Haven't ever tried here in UK.

A turn by turn is basically tells you when to turn and how long to go straight for. A GPS tracker is totally not what i'm looking for. I need it to guide me to new places.

I have never seen it executed. However BeMaps can get you the same Google Maps directions. It just uses BlackBerry maps for turn by turn navigation. Not sure if that kills it. But you do get turn by turn directions whether you are walking or taking transit.

Hope they are seperate walk and bus/car directions because one way streets is not an issue for walking...

Just install a Google map apk, it's better by the default map app by tenfold
