Has anyone else found their accuracy has declined when typing on the digital qwerty on 10.3+ compared to 10.2?

They obviously changed the design a little bit to a more flat looking design in 10.3 and I think this possibly increased the touch sensitive area of each letter which you would think would help accuracy, compared to 10.2 which had a more '3D' feel which I think meant there was a smaller area of sensitivity on each letter to account for the edge space around each key. I feel like maybe having a smaller touch sensitive area on 10.2 actually might have helped accuracy, because what I'm finding with 10.3+ is that it's very easy to touch letters next to the key you meant to press and I'm finding that most words are having to autocorrect because of this and it feels far less accurate. I often end up with a completely garbled mess which doesn't autocorrect and I have to go back and completely delete it, and re-write the word I intended. It's starting to really hamper my enjoyment of my Z30. All this while I'm actually trying to target my fingers as accurately as I can, seriously.

So I'm curious to hear about your experience and what keyboard format you feel is the best?

And also, if there is a different 'hit box' sensitivity on the keys between 10.2 and 10.3 would it be feasible for blackberry to implement a 'classic' option to allow us to use the 10.2 keyboard on 10.3.1?

It's been so long since I ran 10.2 on this device that I can't even remember. I never have had any issues with the virtual kb anyway so I would have to say no...10.3.1 has not been detrimental to using the kb accurately.

At first I found 10.3 better, I seemed to be able to hit buttons more accurate, and I don't really get the swipe up a word to select failure as much anymore, but I do seem to hit the back button by accident more often somehow

I've always found the 10.2 keyboard more accurate to type on than 10.3

Although I'm using a Z10, I agree. I think it's due to the addition of the fret at the bottom of the keyboard (below the space bar). This was not present on previous OS versions.

Personally, when I first upgraded from 10.2 to 10.3, I felt like there was an increase in typing accuracy. I attributed this to the change in colours of the keyboard. The decreased contrast between each key and the surrounding edges seemed to make the keys look bigger. Aesthetically though, I prefer the look of 10.2.

Perhaps in a future release, there will be a way to select your style of keyboard. One can only hope!

I find more words are predicted on 10.3, which is good but I can unintentionally flick up the wrong word from below.

I find I am typing more accurately with 10.3.1. After it's learned the way I type, the predictions work better. The only typo I still make sometimes is with the brackets because they moved them on the secondary keyboard.

I just tested a Z30 on 10.2.1 and it doesn't have the fret at the bottom of the keyboard.

Regardless, the keyboard operates differently than on 10.2.1.

I agree that the predictions probably work better in 10.3+ but this is perhaps more noticeable for me given the sheer extent of words which come out wrong.

Also, does anyone else type 'V' instead of space sometimes? The V character is the mist central character above the space bar. Sometimes I write a whole sentence quickly without checking and I have something like below example:

Okvthenvseevyouvlater (so then the whole thing needs to be deleted and re-written or keyhole surgery to remove all the V's). Drives me crazy.

Basically I can't seem to type fast and accurate on 10.3 like I did on 10.2. The only way I can be accurate is to type slow and constantly check every word as I go (tedious) I'm really trying as well! But I'm just getting frustrated with it and might have to start using my Q10 as daily driver again.

EDIT- see above second paragraph where I wanted to write 'most' but got an 'i' instead of and 'o' this is the kind of thing I get constantly despite my best efforts. Auto correct will not change 'mist' to 'most' because 'mist ' is a word... and the reason mist came out instead of most is because the screen picked up 'i' which is right next to 'o' (I get this all the time with many words).

Other examples:

Tine doesn't even autocorrect to time.
Abd doesn't even autocorrect to and.
Ne doesn't even autocorrect to me!!

There are other commonly used words that don't even correct for me.
