    - removable battery door, but the battery is unremovable
    - metal surrounding bezel
    - AMOLED display, same screen solution with z10, larger screen --> lower pixel density
    - HD screen
    - 4 rows of icons and each of them looks bigger :P
    - Better and much solid built than z10

All the hints lead me to believe that this will be a Z10 successor, rather than a series of its own.

Slightly better specs, same kind of look on the OS (4 rows), and the BlackBerry Z00 on the back.

IIRC, somewhere in the forums I read that this will be the successor to the Z10.

Hope the final design ends up with an external battery. I love being able to remove the battery on my z10 and replace it with a fresh one every time. When I know I'm going to have a long day, I always pack 1 or 2 charged batteries with me.

Non-removable battery is a deal breaker for me. I'm a USTA tournament umpire & sometimes need to be on a court for 10+ hrs & communication w/the desk, using (side loaded) stopwatch, web for weather (heat index) & other things, ect....Not to mention any other time charging may be impossible for extended periods of time.

I have some iPhone using friends and a common response is: "sorry man, didn't get your txt....my phone died"

LED notifications, removable battery & media is a most for me.

The design of the A10 is very nice but if that is how the OS looks on it, bigger active frames and bigger icons, Ugh.

As time goes by I like the shaded box around the icons less and less.

Yep been reported in before, most figure it's because this is a dev unit. It really wouldn't make much sense for BlackBerry to leave it out of what's suppose to be their top-teir BB10 device.

This is my thought too at this point. Making an entire different series for what's basically a larger Z10, wouldn't make sense at all. This device would be better off being called a Z15 rather than something completely different.

I still think Z10 owners got hosed on the battery life...

Interesting.....especially seeing the at&t logo. I hope it sells millions, but, I'll stick with my Z10. It does bring back memories of a few of my BlackBerries - 8300/8310, 9800/9810.....now Z10/Z00 - with a bigger battery.

So if anyone else noticed the new pictures the OS is 127.0.1.4880, which is a unsigned, blacklisted dev OS. If you type in CAP INFO while your device is hooked up to your PC, and in a folder where you have the CAP.exe, your device will reboot and give you information in the screen about your device. You'll notice a range of "Blocked" OS'es. This could possibly be the reason behind the 4 rows of icons vs the 5 rows we saw in a A10 running 10.2.0.552

interesting, I wonder what the Blackberry Z00 on the back of the battery means. Did he mention anything in vietnamese ?
I wouldn't read into that - there are A10's out with "X00" on the back.

Edit: X00 has a 2880mAhr battery versus the 2800 noted in the video.

The A10 is the only phone I can remember seeing having a removable battery door and a non removable battery. Who designed that thing? It is perhaps the laziest designed phone I've ever seen. Seriously, they couldn't come up with any other way for users to install and remove the SD and SIM cards?

There are variations of A10 hardware around running different OS versions.

They could use the Q5 design with a little door on the side and keep the back non removable. If they go that route they need to make that little door for the SD and SIM cards better than the Q5's cause that one on the Q5 does not look very durable or premium in my opinion.

On the other hand if the removable back gets damaged or scrapped up you can easily replace it without sending it in for repairs...

On the other hand, a small drop without a case, and your non-battery door goes flying. It's an unnecessary design complication that I'd imagine increases production costs.

I can't imagine any industrial designer could argue for this with any honesty.
