Well, obviously USB Host and Miracast work on some other devices too.
BlackBerry didn't invent those protocols, the Miracast adapter is from a 3rd party manufacturer.
What the most exciting on that demo is that you could use your big keyboard to do BBM chats.
My belief is that what's shown above can be done with BB10 devices only.
Neither iPhone nor Android have BBM and you need some wooodo to make USB host working on selected Android devices.

I think a cleaner way to do this is to use a Bluetooth mouse/keyboard and Miracast. I do love the USB host function though. I tested Bluetooth mouse and keyboard connectivity to my Z10 on day one. Works wonderfully.

Now if they could make Miracast work with a "dumb" tablet touchscreen. Then we could forgo needing a tablet or recycle our Playbooks and have a tablet sized screen that could also be an input device for our phone. I am thinking of portability.

I believe it's possible in some Android devices, maybe I'm wrong but not possible in Apple devices (not the whole thing at least), Windows Phone I don't know.

I've done something like this with my Z10, HDMI to my TV and bluetooth keyboard and mouse, is great.

Apparently the cpu / gpu combination of the stl2/3 and 4 do not support miracast. Ironically the stl100-1 does support it but the feature would never make its way through.

Once again shafted as an stl100-1 owner lol
