- Anyone had a successful update on the Z30 for Verizon? I've seen many using the OTA on other carriers having mixed results. I would much rather go with a clean install with the autoloader and was curious if anyone has seen good results? Or should I wait for the fix for other models?03-10-15 05:46 AMLike 0
- you are smart to forget the OTA updates. Poison!
Here are the files you need:
http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...oaders-995995/
download the file for your phone to your PC, unzip it there, close link, cable your phone to your pc and click the exe file. Done. complete directions in my signature.
i have a VZW Z30 and have been using 10.3.1 for months and no issues like the ones reported here on the boards.allen832008 likes this.03-10-15 05:49 AMLike 1 - you are smart to forget the OTA updates. Poison!

- Well, what I don't know is if Verizon (or AT&T and other carriers that did not release the OS) users have had some of the issues with the BLACK screen and rotation, etc. Or if only officially released patrons have had these issues. In other words, there definitely have been issues/bugs and you have to consider that when getting this now WITHDRAWN OS. Many have had absolutely no problems and others have had severe issues - the BLACK screen is pretty bad.
At first I installed a Blitz NON-destructive and did have some rotation issues (in the camera and video presentation) but then used the Autoloader found on CB and have not had issues. But I also have not had my battery go to zero which seems to cause the Black screen bug.
I don't do Visual Voice Mail so can't comment. But I do not have lag or rotation issues. What is the issue or supposed issue with SNAP? I just fired it up and it opened and I searched for an app and it found it.kbz1960 likes this.03-10-15 09:03 AMLike 1 - I guess I will be following this thread . . I have a brand new Verizon Z30 coming today and just assumed I'd run the autoloader on it before I did much in the way of set-up . . I ran the autoloader on my z10 and have had no issues, but I have never let my battery get to zero either. Seems like its hard to get any definitive guidance on this right now?03-10-15 09:33 AMLike 0
- Thanks jaydee, and everyone else too, I'll check that thread. Any difference in those autoloaders and official ones here: http://developer.blackberry.com/blac...toloaders.html03-10-15 02:22 PMLike 0

Then, after a while then goahead and load a leaked OS with sachesi or autoloader, whichever you choose, and then see how the device runs/handles.
Make sure you backup your docs/contacts/images/music etc. to a folder on you pc someplace safe before you do a wipe reload of the OS...revtech likes this.03-10-15 03:21 PMLike 1 - Ok, thanks Carl! That makes sense so that I can make sure the device is working fine . . I can certainly wait, its just that I have really really really enjoyed using BlackBerry Blend with my Z10 and I think Blend only works with 10.3.1 (?) . .
Glad to hear your good word on the Z30, I keep hearing so much good about it and my aging eyes need an upsize from the z10 ;-)03-10-15 03:37 PMLike 0 - Ok, thanks Carl! So great to be able to see all of your "BlackBerry Hub" activities on your computer screen and be able to respond without picking up your device.
Oh, and I had the Z10 ....nice phone... have a Z30....Awesome phone.....

ring tone, wallpaper.
Did the backup thingy, two different ways.
As to my Contacts...., there is no Contacts folder on the device, but a miserable set of like 10 contacts
that are "somewhere". On my card there are like 150 Contacts. When I try to copy say, five and paste
them, the OS slaps my hand - something about not being a write-able device. Can I use my Link/Backup to
get my contacts ? Is there another slick way to do this ? Doc Neutron03-18-15 08:55 PMLike 0 - OK, did the autoloader thingy as suggested above... looks like I'll need to re-install a bunch of apps,

You mention that they are or may be on "my card" so what do you mean? Did you use some other app to place them there?
Did you sync or use a Google, yahoo or Outlook.com account where your contacts might be saved?03-18-15 09:56 PMLike 0 - Did use BBLink. Also did drag and drop. Do have Contacts saved via Outlook. Do have a set on my SIM card. Using Windows 7 or Super File Manager PRO, do not see Device folder "Contacts". Is this normal? Cannot simply drag and drop via Windows 7 - may need to be Administrator. Get sweaty, shaky nervous with BB Link. Can I use it to precisely restore just my Contacts.?03-19-15 07:11 AMLike 0

If they are on the sim card, open the Contacts app. Swipe down for Settings. Scroll down toward the bottom of that screen. There's the Sim Card options. One is IMPORT from Sim card.
I am not entirely fond of BBlink either. Hit and miss. I'm not sure if you can only restore Contacts - it may entail restoring more than just them. Whatever you do, try the Custom restore. And then in Details, do NOT restore Blackberry Runtime (it is the Android module and restoring an older one has caused problems).
Good luck.03-19-15 08:43 AMLike 0 - TY. Did the Contact X thing - works. Interesting: Contact X, before and after exporting to my Device, does NOT see a Contacts folder !!! I will indeed try your moves with inhouse Contacts app. Again, thanks.03-19-15 09:12 AMLike 0
