So I have an unlocked Z30 with T-Mobile and just got a 500mb-ish update today. Anyone else seen this? No wifi calling.
10.2.1.2160. I guess it may just be an MR. I was on 10.2.1.2102.

just received mine a couple of hours ago, same thing as you, no Wi-Fi calling. i am going to call them right now.

spoke to the tmo technical support and they said it's not a tmo official phone, so no Wi-Fi calling. he also said they are not getting the z30 at all and no longer selling blackberry devices.

A bit offtopic if you ask me. This should be about the OS, how to get it, what it brings in, bugs, etc. Not if said carrier supports the device and how stupid and unedcated the support team is (for issuing OS updates clearly stated they do support the device).

Z30STA100-5. I've played around with it a little. Haven't noticed anything new yet. I'll get back here if I do.

I disagree.

First of all, there's already a 10.2.1.2160/10.2.1.2234 leak thread where people are discussing that OS version specifically. Secondly, I'm in the process of compiling input on the recent US carrier OS build idiosyncracies here:

Lastly, it's a legitimate question about why T-Mobile would push an update for a device they never sold. In fact, the availability of this build for Z30 has gone up/down/up/down several times already today. Even stranger, T-Mobile was even pushing an update for a device never before announced as being sold in the USA a little bit ago. Just updated but I could not get incoming calls. Could make them along with both send and receive texts. Reverting to a lower version for now. Z30 on T-Mo.

I am using a z30 unlocked on the T-mo network in Dallas and just got a 78 mb upgrade to 10.2.1.2122. Interesting as I would kit have imagined they would push an update for an unsupported model. Checking to see how it works and will report back..hmmmm??

It downloads through TMobile's carrier coding so they pushed it through. All the updates come from BlackBerry. The carriers decide when to push them out.

On T mobile with my Z30 (100-5) with a phone I purchased from Bell and unlocked. I was pushed the 10.2.1.2234 update. Downloaded OTA and installed without a hitch. I have a dimmed out wifi calling icon on the top bar. Have not been able to make it work. Cannot find any app or setting for it.

WiFi calling on T-Mobile USA does NOT work with the Z30.

I don't know the precise reason and I doubt there is any hardware limitation, my guess is that either A) T-Mobile just does not enable it on devices that were not specifically sold for use on their network, or B) there may be code in the radio firmware that is necessary to enable it and since the Z30 was never sold by T-Mobile that code may have never been included in any of the Z30 radio firmware builds.

I'm leaning towards "B" being the more likely reason.
