    Z30 purchased Second hand unlocked; works great but won't acknowledge any update from. Telus on the phone or in the pc.

    Only the STA100-5 gets the update directly from BlackBerry since it is the one BlackBerry sells in ShopBB. Unlocked in your case means that you can use different carrier providers. Your phone is still carrier dependent for updates.
    If you want the latest OS you will have to wait for your carrier to push it or use the different tools that are available for that matter.
