Dang. I was hoping it would have that stuff on there. I bought an unlocked Q10 and I haven?t been able to download 10.3....

Go install the 10.3.1.1016 leak. It has some very minor bugs bit overall it is very stable and a great daily driver. I recommend in-place/non-destructive upgrades, but most people will tell you to wipe your phone by using an Autoloader.

Yea I think for the factory unlocked ones you can just update it through link by removing the sim

    Posted via CB/Q10
It has been my experience that with the SIM in place, you get the updates that carrier wants on their network. I seem to remember following what you stated here, popping the SIM out and doing an update, that gets you the latest version approved by BB.

Not true. Sim and carrier push updates. If att doesn't support bb10, you'll need to either get another carrier's sim or use autoloaders. I'm not sure if att does or doesn't as I'm based in Canada.

I'm on T-Mobile in the USA. My locked T-Mobile phone doesn't get the latest update since T-mobile has not officially released it. But my unlocked phones got the latest 10.2.1 update.

Currently on white q10 and have been researching the z30 and have not seen the phone texting in landscape mode...can someone direct me to a video that uses the z30 in landscape mode? I want the white passport and am up for an upgrade with att, but since they don't have it, I want try the z30 now that's is really cheap

You can text in landscape.. but the keyboard takes a bit more than half The screen... so not much viewing area left.

So tempted to rid my black z30 and get a brand new flashy white z30... I bought mine second hand (like new) this time last year and usually don't stick to a phone for more than 9-12 months... just says a lot about the z30 really!

Agreed, it's a little ridiculous. I pretty much stick in portrait mode since the keys are almost as big as my Z10 in landscape mode. :-)

Yes, I have had my Q10 for under a year and am very very tempted to get the white Z30. By tempted, I mean I am going to order it once I get home. Keep you posted in a few.

Just jumped in on this. At $299 I consider it a good upgrade to my Z10. The original pricing was not for the screen and memory. This should hold me over till a new all touch flagship comes out with superior specs.

Just bought the white one for my wife. She had the iphone 4 that just got slow and buggy, so I tied her over with my old Galaxy S2, now it is time to get her something good. Hope she likes it, she wanted the iphone 6 but the price and performance for the Z30 is just is too good to resist! She at least is willing to give the Z30 a go...

Ordered a black one. Thinking I will autoload at least 10.3 as soon as I get it. Using 10.3.0.1154 on my Z10. Never wait on ATT to release updates.
Which os is good for you that are already using the Z30?

Question about loading 10.3 on my soon to arrive Z30. If I purchased it from shopblackberry to use on AT&T in California, will I have access to 10.3 when it comes from BlackBerry? If not, how difficult is it to load 10.3 on my new Z30? I don't want to risk "bricking" it...

Do you want to keep your settings? Upgrading your new Z30 will be a piece of cake (like,.. download the corresponding autoloader, plug device into USB, double click autoloader .exe, go do something else).

Sorry for all of these questions, but I'm not new to blackberry, but new to sideloading (I have the amazon app store and 1mobile on my Q10). I'm worried that by downloading a leaked 10.3 OS I will ruin my new Z30. What do you mean by keep my settings?

I meant keep your settings on your Q10 (because you mentioned you would like to try it out on your current Q10).

There are basically two ways of updating the OS. Destructively (resets your device to new state) by using an autoloader (which is an executable file that basically reflashes your device), OR non-destructively (doesn't overwrite your data) using Sachesi (a tool developed by a CrackBerry member) which essentially sideloads every system application core file and radio file (this is akin to doing an Other-The-Air, OTA upgrade that you would get from your carrier). There's a new blitz method which is also non-destructive but I've only seen it be used for beta 10.3.1 OS leaks,.. you should stick to 10.3.0 for now,.. more stable imo.

The autoloader method is usually cleaner but you lose all your data (which doesn't matter on your new Z30), while the non-destructive method is more convenient (since you don't have go through and set up everything again), but can sometimes (not often) cause some incompatibility issues.

There are plenty of threads about all of this on the Beta/Leaked OS sub forum. But don't be afraid,.. it's all fairly straight forward once you download the right pieces and you most likely won't break anything in a way that you can't fix it.

I've been running 10.3.1.1016 on my Passport and while the added functionality is great, it's not as rock solid as 10.3.0. I've had various glitches playing media, battery manager doesn't really work, periodic bouts of very low frame rate, and lost audio (all resolved with a reboot).

Maybe other devices are doing better, but I can't 100% recommend it at this point.

Well, I was thinking, by the way you put it, I can install 10.3.0 on my z30 and then manually load the apps that I had on in. I don't mind doing that since I mainly use it to for work and have rare 'play' apps. I also plan on moving my contacts and media to my SD card so that all I need to do is place my SD card in my new z30. Does that sound something fairly simple?
