I have a trip planned to San Francisco at the end of January 2014. I would like to get a pre paid data and voice sim to use while I am out there but its very confusing looking at the different carrier options and phone compatibility.
Can anyone make a recommendation for me?
I will use data much more than voice.
Can I have the card shipped to the UK before I go or would I be better just getting one out there?
This link seems to provide some good references but I am not sure which would be best compatibility wise?

Just to note my phone is not locked to any carrier.

If it is going to be for less than 10 days then get a T-Mobile prepaid $3/day plan.

If you are going for more than 10 days then go with the prepaid month plan.

Thanks, i found this site useful for checking compatibility
    Tracfone: BYOP

You pop you IMEI number in and the ZIP code where you want to use it and it confirms. It looks like i can just walk into a shop when I am there and get a month plan.
