    Hi, I'm planning to switch over from z10 to a new Z30. I was wondering if you need to switch the phone off when switching sim cards?

    I'll be travelling a lot and switching sim. Not having to turn the phone off would be a great thing for me.

    Could someone verify this for me?

    This is a great question. In theory, you would not need to since you don't have to take the battery out of the way... Let me try to get some Z30ers here.

    Happy to report that no, your device doesn't need to be off. I swap SIM cards on my Z30 a few times a day and never turn it off. It simply detects that there's no SIM card, then re-detects when a new one is inserted.

    I was told to switch from the z10 to z30 by my carrier to turn off both phones when switching Sims. I did this and no problems. This was telus.
