    Hi Guys,

I've been experiencing a problem with my new Z30 and I'm trying to pinpoint if it's a hardware or software problem.

I find that quite often, I have to swipe up twice to unlock the Z30. It seems to happen more when I take it out of my pocket, after not using it for a bit. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had the same issue with the Z10 when I first got it - however it was fixed with a software upgrade. It was a known bug when the phone was locked within the Hub. On my Z30, it doesn't matter what screen the phone was on when it was locked...

    Thanks!

Hey try getting the bbve app by blackberry, it can run a test to check that your touch screen senses properly.

Thanks for that! Completely forgot about that app! I'll check it out and revert back.

I find that a nice smooth slow swipe works best for me

Same thing used to happen on my z10. It didn't happen often though, I thought it was the screen protector interfering

Yep, I agree with what he said. With my Z10 I could just quick flick up with no thought. With the Z30 I need to be smoother with it, or it can take 3 swipes to get it unlocked.

Swiped on a beautiful AMOLED BlackBerry 10.

Don't have this issue on mine, I even have the protector that came with the phone still on.

But I can flick very quick and it will still bring up the lock screen.

This happened in both 10.2 and ?now on the leak 10.2.1.

Ran through the diagnostic tool and everything looks good...

I do have a screen protector - an iShieldz. But I had one on my Z10 and it was fine. It was doing this the stock protector too..

I did restore from a backup... should I try a fresh wipe and re-download all my apps?

Wouldn't hurt to try it, perhaps try and set the phone up as new ie don't restore from a backup and see if that alleviates the issue.

Silly question but make sure you are starting at the absolute bottom of the glass, below where the screen starts. Otherwise good luck!
