Stated as 50% more durable than the competitors' , the battery life of the Z30 ,up to 25 hrs in "normal" (I read moderate), is a VERY valuable competitive advantage. Still asking why no 1080p or octoprocessor ?

P.S: I translate these 25hrs into ~13hrs for heavy usage (to be confirmed IRL).

BlackBerry claims that the Z30 sports 50% more battery life than its current competitor smartphones. The BlackBerry Z30 smartphone includes a 2880 mAh battery, the largest battery ever built into a BlackBerry smartphone.
Combined with the battery enhancements in BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2, you can get up to 25 hours of mixed use to keep you moving from dusk ‘till dawn.
And yes, we should also notice improvements for current Qs and Zs !

    Edit added specs sheet, FYI.

You can't have it both ways.... octoprocessor and 1080p both drain more battery.

Also. I will add that gaming on 720p means less workload on gpu meaning more fps.

I personally think it was a clever move. The benefits of 1080p on such a small screen are minimal, you have hdmi out for large screen.

Also the battery burn of octo core or quad core outweighs the benefits of having it on an optimised OS.

Dual core seems to keep everything very smooth on my Z10.

I am happy overall, it is a solid product offering at a solid price point.

    Untrue.
Most games will be coded to run at locked, Stable fps...these modern GPUs can easily drive 1080p screens at 60fps or 30fps.
No more fps in games, only more fps in benchmarks constrained to onscreen resolution.

Is this the case for mobile games? Because this isn't the case on PC.

It is the case on PC if the GPU is beefy enough. An Nvidia Titan will render Battlefield 4 at ultra settings at 1080p and 720p at a solid 60fps.
It won't at 4k resolution though.

This is why the iPad 3 GPU struggled to properly render games at the native resolution until apple upped the GPU in the iPad 4.

Any reason to have 1080p on 720p screen?
