All I can tell you is that it is definitely a -2 and it definitely shows 4G service.As far as LTE on AT&T goes, I don't think the -2 can do it.

4G is different than LTE. Also, you may need to get a new SIM if your phone is LTE capable and you are in ATT LTE coverage.
US carriers refer to HSPA+ as 4G, (when in reality it should be 3.5-3.75G) and to LTE as 4G LTE. That being said, I'm not an AT&T customer, but this is the general trend here. Both T-Mobile and Verizon say 4G LTE when you have actual LTE.
Well, terminology aside, I can definitely say that I am happy with the performance and operation of the phone.
