It's separate. I could tell it recognized my swipe up cause the image in the partially visible part of the screen changed colors

Sorry about your loss. I know I was seriously bummed when my z10 bricked the other day and 5 hours later it was still dead. Your accident has to be worse by a long measure.

Dud you search online to buy a replacement screen? I've seen them on amazon r the Z10.

I'm sorry to hear that. There are places that will fix broken screen, which is a much cheaper option than buying a new phone.

I don't know where you live, but in the US, there's a chain of repair shops called, "UBreak iFix", and they do fix BlackBerry screens.

There are cheaper places as well, but they have locations convenient to me. Hopefully you can find a shop near you & it'll only be a $100 mistake!

When its repaired I am selling it. I have a new Z30 now lol

For the Z10, you can replace the screen for $40 and the digitizer for $20. That's one of the reasons I purchased the phone. Low part replacement cost is my peace of mind in lieu of a warranty.

The Z30 is very new so I don't think you'll be able to find a replacement screen on eBay or other low price retailer. Also, you can't easily access the Z30's innards due to the built-in nature of everything.

I feel for you man.

just got off the phone with my guy, i can get an oem screen for it for 127. i pm'ed you. definitely interested in buying it if it's cheap enough.

i'm also taking all risk that the logic board isn't cracked... judging by it not connecting to link it's kinda a tough deal.

Damn Bookster, you have the worst luck. Remind me NOT to stand next to you during a lightning storm.

Hopefully you get this sorted out soon. I know we do not always agree on things but I also know how all in you are about that device. I honestly hope you get a new one soon.

Bought a new one, setting it up now. Gonna get this other one fixed and sell it to my friend.

We have what we call Contents Insurance that is cheap and covers just the things you own in the house, even if you're renting. All my electronics are covered at home or away (for 90 days) for theft, damage or loss. New for old replacement. Costs about $300 a year, but there's no deductible to claim. So, if I drop a phone and break it, or my son smashes a big screen tv, or I lose my watch overboard kayaking I get new items.

Wow, who is your insurance provider? Might have to look into this.
