S4 is ahead in some areas and the Z30 in others.
Max brightness goes to the S4 and I especially liked the conclusion of the review:

"Other than that, a pragmatic person would be hard-pressed to acquire the BlackBerry Z30 at the $600+ price it commands off-contract, considering that's the tag for flagship handsets on mobile platforms that are more proven than BB 10, and have a lot higher app count. Unless you are bored with the Android/iOS/WP mafia, that is, and want to explore a fresh new interface take like BB 10."

If you want BB10 at its best the Z30 is the way to do it, though it costs a premium. The max brightness between the 2 is a small difference, between the z10 is another matter.

It costs an unwarranted premium, that's the thing.
And my biggest critique has always been the PPI of the display, not the screen per se.

I want BB10, but not with hardware from last year, with that price. It's not worth it for 98,5% of consumers and there is a reason for it.
Right now, IF I buy a new BlackBerry it either is the successor of the Z30 or the one of the Q10.
On the other hand, there is a nice thread on these forums speculating about the new "Windmere" form-factor.

I'm pretty sure that device is just going to be a 4.5" 720p oled version of the z10. Hopefully they price it right
