I'm a T-Mobile customer. Will the sim card in my Z10 work in a Z30?

A micro sim will work in an unlocked Z 30. Some functions may be missing due to lack of support for BlackBerry.

Yeah, it should work. I'm on AT&T and swapping sims was all I needed to do. When switching from Z10 to Z30.

I had a sim in my Z10 which work great. Took it out / place it in the Z30 / nothing happens. It said no sim card. I even took it to various phone shops to see if I was doing something wrong. Is there something I'm missing bec I know it should work because it is an unlocked phone

I have a question for you. When you take SIM out of Z10, can you turn it on and see the display? My Z10 was off for two months since I got Z30. Yesterday I tried to turn it on to find the name of certain app installed on it and all I see is black screen. When I plugged in the charger, I saw red LED blinking and BlackBerry logo periodically appearing on the screen. Charging the battery did not help. I had the phone for 16 months and it worked flawlessly. What could possibly happen? The only possibility is it needs SIM to be turned on. Is it so? Thanks.

No SIM needed for the Z10 to work. I use one for a music streamer without a SIM. Uses wifi only.

I do the same with the z10, bedtime reader. I swapped the micro sim no problem between my 10 and 30.

I solved the problem. Even though my Z10 was turned off for two months, it was still consuming energy and completely discharged the battery. I put in a charged battery from my battery pack and the phone came alive. It took many hours to charge the dead battery. Lesson learned. I will have to pull the battery when the phone is not in use or charge it regularly.

Curious, what Z30 model do you have (STA100-1, 2, or...), and where did you get it from? Your Z10 is probably a STL100-3 model that is compatible with T-Mobile USA's frequencies. If your Z30 is a STA100-5 Model, it should also work fine with the US T-Mobile sim. See the chart below:
