I'm waiting for my Z30 to be delivered. I love the look of the hardware, except for the silver at the bottom, I feel it looks out of place and dull. I thought it was grey plastic until I tapped it with my nail. Am I the only one who thinks it looks out of place? I wish the metal was gunmetal or black. What do you guys think?

The silver on the chin continues along the side of the phone which in my opinion, completes the look and makes a world of difference. If only the chin was silver, I wouldn't like it.

You can't always see that in the pictures but in hand, the phone looks great. You'll see.

When I first saw pictures with the silver bar I didn't really like it, but it has grown on me, and I do like that it helps with orientation.

I came from a Z10 so I kind of hated it. But I use the glacier White otterbox case and now I don't even see the strip anymore. I love it

I agree, before I got my z30 a week and a bit ago, I thought it looked terribly cheap and out of place.

It's still a piece of junk for durability. It *is* actually cheap plastic that chips at the smallest impact. A chunk of the silver trim came off at the USB charging port just from tapping it a tad harder once with the mini-USB connector. The bottom chipped from God-knows-what in two spots. My phone is in the case most if the time and was never dropped anywhere.

My case covers it, though I actually think it's nice looking. I have heard how fragile it is, and that it chips really easily. I don't want to get it messed up, so I keep a case on my Z30.

It looks off with the white Z30 though, but I like the look still.

My experience is quite different. I work in construction, store the thing in my back pocket, no case - nothing but a screen protector. I have dropped it several times. It still looks almost like the day I bought it, which was first day it was on sale at Verizon. I have been thoroughly impressed with the durability - this is the first time I have used a phone in my harsh work environment with no case. You seem to have been unlucky.

As for the subject - I wasn't 100% sold on the silver bar when I first saw pictures. It didn't exactly bother me, but didn't impress me either. Until I got it and used it. Now - love the silver bar.
