I used to have a BB9930 and a Playbook and it was very enjoyable while I had them. Before that I had android devices. After the 9930 and PB, I switched to iPhone for 6-8 months or so and then went back to Android via the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5. In between the 4&5 I bought the Q10 outright, and I couldn't justify the $670 tag so I sold it a couple days later for a little loss.

I've been looking to get back in the BlackBerry game, and with the recent news of the $100 off deal, I will probably jump on the Z10 or the Q10. I just started reading reviews about the Z30 (didn't even know it existed until last week), and I've become enamored with the device. If the $100 promo applied to it, I would buy it, but sadly it doesn't. Oddly enough, it doesn't say invalid promo code when you type it in on shopblackberry com, but it doesn't apply a discount either. Perhaps since it is on back-order, it can't apply the discount, but if you try it next week when it is in stock, it might get applied? Or is that wishful thinking...

Well anyway, I'm stuck whether I want to buy $199 Z10, $299 Q10 or wait and hope the Z30 is discounted.

    :s

    PS, I'm T-Mobile prepaid.

I have had both, and I MUCH prefer the larger screen of the Z30! Much better specs on the Z30 also. That being said the Z10 is a fine phone also! And as for the Q10 it's great too, but I just could not get used to that small of a screen again. And the on screen keyboard on the Z devices is THE best in the business, it's almost as good as a physical keyboard.

I'd get the Z30.... just for the battery life.

Don't expect the Z30 to see the discounts the Z10 has gotten. The Z10 was way over produced, and it is still the introductory offering for a touch screen BB10 device. They have no choice be to discount it. The Z30 on the other had has been produced in very limited quantity and is their premium device in touch screen... no need to discount it.

Plus the way to switch devices, I think you will be happier with the resell value of the Z30 over the Z10.

The battery and screen size of the Z30 is incredible! I've had mine for just over a week now and absolutely love it!

Having said that, I not a big guy (5'8") but I find that the Z30 is a little too uncomfortable to use one handed. I'm constantly in fear of dropping it when I'm using it one handed. Never had that with my Z10. Definitely miss that from my Z10. Used it for almost 14 months before finally biting and getting Rogers to upgrade me to the Z30 for free

I don't think you can go wrong, or be disappointed, with either phone. Just be prepared to either charge frequently or get a battery pack for the Z10 as battery life is less than great. Even on my best day, I'd take my Z10 off the charger at 7:00AM and I'd have to charge it on my drive home at 4pm but working in an office all day and spending 45mins in the car each way, I was always near a charger and never had an issue with plugging it in and topping up when I could. With the Z30 I've easily gone 24+ hours on a charge with my normal usage. Heck, I went almost 40 hours between charges this weekend. Took it off at 9:00AM on Saturday and only plugged it in at 11:00PM on Sunday because I was at 10% and figured I may as well charge it up overnight so I'd have a fresh battery for Monday lol

Now, that was with weekend usage as opposed to normal business usage, but still even on weekend usage my Z10 never last more than 12 hours

Like I said, I don't think you'll be disappointed with either phone providing you're prepared to deal with the shortcomings of the Z10 battery.

I've had both and much prefer my 30. In fact I don't hardly ever pick up my PB. My 4 year old prefer my 30 over his mom's z10, and he has her old iPhone to play angry birds on and even he prefers my 30 over his iPhone. Which ever one you pick will be a fantastic device.

I have both devices. The Z10 was my daily driver since Feb 2013. It performed marvellously. The battery life improved with each update, but I could never quite make it through a full day without a charge or battery swap. I traded up to the Z30 2 weeks ago and have been totally satisfied. Bigger screen, a touch faster and the battery! Now a full day of hard work use with some juice left at the end of the day. My hands are medium in size and it fits well. I still use my '10 on weekends for outdoor work since the case options for the '30 are currently a bit limited. If you can manage the cost of the 30, I would advise it. However the z10 is still a good option. Just pick up the Battery Bundle.

The Z30 battery is the main reason for choosing it over the Z10. I prefer the size of the Z10 but I can't cope with the battery performance.

I have them both and it really depends on how you are using the device. The Z10 is great for one handed use and the overall experience is awesome (aside from the battery life). The Z30 on the other hand is a top notch device. The screen is a little less sharper over the Z10 but it makes up for great battery life, updated specs (CPU and GPU), fantastic sound (probably the best on the market), and a few other awesome things like FM radio, Miracast support, USB OTG, etc. If you want the biggest and baddest BB10 phone get the Z30.

Z30 is Z10 on steriods, both fantastic but Z30 is better, hardware and software. I love my Z30 and I have average or smaller hands.

I used to have Z10 and now I have Z30: I can tell the differences.

Z30 is faster and smarter, not to mention the better battery.

My vote goes for the Z30... I loved my Z10, but man... this thing is a beast, the battery alone is worth it, and BB10 looks so good on a bigger screen.

I loved my Z10 for a full year but I finally took the plunge with the 30 and love it even more!
Z10: Smaller, easier to use with one hand
Z30: Larger screen so nice to have the extra real estate, Amazing battery life (comes in very handy if you use Android Apps which aren't very efficient at battery use), Miracast - I love flashing up my phone content (games, you tube, movies) up onto the big screen, Typing is a little more comfortable two handed than the Z10. When showing off my BB10's awesome keyboard I always tell people "Hold it like a Blackberry" and they know what I mean. Use two hands for the fastest typing and swiping experience. So many iPhone users try one finger typing.. it's excruciating to watch. Once they hold it like a Blackberry, words just fly onto the screen!
    Enjoy your choice!

I have used both and the Z30 is the best. Great phone for all the reasons s posters noted above. I love the size of the screen. With my Z10 I still used my PlayBook sometimes. Since I got the Z30 I hardly touch the PlayBook.

However... I see you are on T-Mobile (usa?). If you want/need wifi-calling it will not work on the Z30.

Get the Z30 if can and if you are willing to handle the size, still pocketable for me, the size didn't bother me at all, plus I still can handle it one handed and I don't have big hands... on the other side the Z10 is great also you won't be disappointed of it, both are very good devices but the Z30 is a monster.

Don't need WiFi calling. I have 100 minutes then 10c a minute after that with T-Mobile, and I also have unlimited calls to US/Canada through Skype (is Skype on BlackBerry?).

$200 is always easier to pay for the $500.

For $400 I'd go Z30, but for $200, it may have to be the Z10. But battery life is important to me, so I will probably change my mind!

Just ordered my Z30 from Rogers yesterday, it's on sale for $49.99 on 2-year contract with a $50 rebate, total cost = $0.00 and they still have them in stock, unlike Bell.

I have had the Z30 for one month and the z10 for 12 months. Both good phones. The battery on the z30 makes is great. But it's heavier Nd less portable, in my view. If I have to choose, I take the z30. Cost is an important factor.

Get the Z30, you won't look back. And throw in a 64gb MSD card and you all set.

Side note: Except for screen size (5"), it is what the Playbook should have been all along.......

2 64gb PB are now regulated to #1: waking my but* up in the am, and the second unit: Navigation in the Ridgeline. I even leave the PB in the truck over night.

    BUT NOT THE Z30!
