I'll probably pick one up for the future Mrs. Ocean, but for me a bigger screen still can't replace my hardware keyboard

Perhaps the oft rumoured sliding keyboard is the one to wait for in your case.

Hopefully you don't think that this 1.5 year old technology will bring back the glory days lol

I don't disagree with you but it should be obvious by now that BlackBerry doesn't expect to win on the technology side (and nor should they) instead it's an OS play.

I think its a nice upgrade for Z10 users but not for me. if I need a bigger touch only phone, I ll go for Sony. I ll only upgrade when Q30 arrives

sliding keyboard is also no go for me because of the hassle...a minor specs bump on the current Q10 with form factor intact will be enough for me to upgrade

I disagree with this! They actually mention 2 innovations in the press release, the natural sound and the antenna tech, so hopefully we won't have problems with "holding it wrong" And for the CPU is IS pretty quick, but they also wanted to get good battery life so maybe it's not the fastest quadcore on the planet, BUT it has impressive battery life. You know Apple doesn't use the latest and the greatest chip also right?

O series buddy. BlackBerry is already working on other phones. Wait until we hear something official before we assume that the Z30 is the last to come

In all reality when they announce the buyout in supposedly "November" (probably in January because they are so slow with pretty much everything important) there will be no more BlackBerry devices. Maybe the OS will survive but the devices are pretty much dead. Not trying to be a doubter but it's pretty obvious what's going to happen. RIP BlackBerry :-(

This phone is only going to be good for existing BlackBerry users, I doubt it's going to be a game changer just like the Z and Q. The price is going to be real low before new Blackberry users are going to sign up for 2 years on a contract I think. Not everyone can afford to buy the phone outright or have good credit for 0% financing. They can get a S4 cheap enough and it's a proven good device. Also, people might be leary switching to a company that's up for sale.
