I've had my Z30 for about a month and the ringtones are driving me nuts. I uploaded all my old ringtones from my Curve, but when I use them there is no delay between rings. Instead of ring....pause....ring....pause, I get ring ring ring ring ring. Is there a way to fix this short of adding some silent time to the end of the ring with an audio program like Audacity?

    I'm on Verizon running 10.2.1.2991

You can create anything with Audacity. But maybe downloading the ringtones from a file might help?

Thanks jaydee. I've been using Audacity for some time now, but I was hoping to not have to go that route. All the ringtones I have on my Z30 came from my Curve, the standard Z30 tones, and a batch that someone here loaded to dropbox. They all work the same way. No pause between rings.

I think the missing pause is a feature to get the illusion of an endless ring tone. If you want indeed a pause you must add one in your ringtone.

If you are asking about adding a PAUSE to an existing ringtone, some folks use a computer program called Audacity to edit mp3 (other?) files. With it you can change volume or add the tone/song to itself, thereby doubling its length. While I'm not sure, you can probably add a bit of SILENCE to an existing tune.

Yes you can add silence anywhere in the ringtone.

My problem is the ringtones had a pause when they were on my Curve, but my Z30 doesn't have the pause even though it's the same audio file.

It is probably not the ringtone fault. This new OS just does not insert any gap was it plays the ringtone the next time(s).
