I really am happy with my new phone - it's absolutely gorgeous!

However, there is just one app that I really do miss - Gettaxi. I used to use it all the time on my Android device, and for some reason the only version of the app out there, for BB, is for the older OS versions.

Is there any way to install BB apps of older OS versions on BB 10.2.1?

Or, was anyone successful with running the Android app? I tried installing it, but while trying to run it, it told me it cannot because it needs Google Services, and my phone doesn't support them.

    Any ideas..?

Welcome to the world of BlackBerry!

Since you're already familiar with sideloading, I recommend you get familiar with the Snap app, which lets you install Android apps right from Google Play and without a computer. Of course, you must first sideload Snap onto your Z30 (requires OS 10.2.1+). See if there are any alternatives to the app you're looking for directly on Google Play.

Also, which OS is currently loaded on your phone? If you're not on 10.2.1, then I would recommend installing the latest leaked OS as it will greatly improve Android support, although I don't think Google Services are fully supported.

If the Get taxi app requires Google Play Services, there is no way you can run the app. The above posters mentioned methods of installing the app, but that is pointless, as you've already discovered that the missing Play Services prevent the app from running.

I'm afraid, that the only solution is to either wait for an update for bb10, or to look for a different app.

Done the same. Switched from S3 to Z30. Knew that the apps wasn't readily available but it is well worth the compromise to use the Z30. Still have the S3 but rarely turns it on. My view Z30 the best device out there.

Well, I had the phone for a year and a half now, and REALLY wanted something new and fresh. I love the design, I love the OS - extremely intuitive and elegant, I love the screen, I really love the weight (I like my phone to be on the heavy side) and most of all - I absolutely love the Hub...

Kinda depressing... It was one of my most used apps. At least Duolingo runs perfectly..

BTW - any recommendation for a really good alternative Media Player? The native is okay, but I want something better, if there is any..

Can't go wrong with a new iPod touch on iOS 7

haha really though, I've never loaded any songs onto my Q10 or Z10, and use an iPod just for music.

Neutron is by no means the very best media player out there ever. You would need some DJ smarts to fully use this app. Buy if and I don't think you will regret you ever made that decision.

Instead of gettaxi, check out Uber on Android. I'm sure you'll find your needs met

If you get neutron it will kill your battery life a lot quicker than the stock app.

It's not that neutron is a pig, it's just that the stock media player is insanely efficient.

+1 for Neutron! It's amazing with just the equalizer. If you figure out more of it, that's a bonus. Easily the best $5 I've spent in BlackBerry World.

It is also an Android port, so you shouldn't have any problems with the functionality of it.

While they do have a version for Android that looks the same, the version in BlackBerry World is native and doesn't run in the Android Player.

Are you loading that through a sideload? can't be directly installed OTA.
