The volume keys not only rattle but seems like they will pop out. I tried the cellophane tape 'fix' but it does not work. It's a new phone and I am not sure if it's normal.

    Anu suggestions?
    Thanks

It's "normal", as in, they all do it to some degree. You might try using 2 pcs. of cello tape to put a little "pressure" on the physical keys to keep them from rattling.

Mine don't rattle nor appear to be loose enough to pop out.
I would return it, as you said it was a new device.

If it's new and under warranty, return it.

Thanks. I'll try to use enough tape and see if it'll fix the issue, else will return it.

The keys on my Z30 don't rattle at all. The entire device has excellent build quality. I'm not sure what to make of this issue, but I'd return any faulty models, if possible.

My volume rockers rattle, too. At first I tough it was the camera lens and I panicked, but it turned out to be the buttons.. after I while I no longer cared.

It is disappointing to me the fact that I have never received a perfect BlackBerry in my life. They have had no functionality impairments, but annoyances like a loose batery door on a Q10, a screen that made a sticky click on a Z10, the rattling buttons on the Z30, the slider mechanism always wobbled slightly side to side and up and down on a 9800 with minimal effort when closed or opened, the screws on a 9900's screen weren't properly tightened so the whole thing could be moved up and down.

I actively search for stuff like that every time I get a new BlackBerry, so it could be slightly my fault for caring too much, but damn.

Yeah, mine rattle a bit. Not an issue for me at all. Although I did think it was the camera at first and had a slight panic moment

Nah BlackBerry has some quality control problems for sure. Though my 9810 was pretty mint and lasted 3 years

Yeah even I thought it was the camera at first. Someone also suggested that it could be the NFC but only after a few days I realized it was the volume keys. Otherwise it's a phenomenal device. It's my first smartphone too and I never thought I would be so attached to any material thing, that too a potential tracking device but I just can't help it. Lol.

I have had two Z30 so fat and they both rattle. They are fine, just the way they are set in, they don't have support like other devices.

I will write it again ...
All Z30 have this small issue
The people that say that the keys don't rattle are just lying....
Speaking with Blackberry they told me all Z30 has this rattle thing....
It's not an issue for them its totally normal
Changed 3 devices all of them with the same rattle

If you have a tiny t4 screwdriver you can try tightening the screws near the volume keys. if you have a serious rattle

I've had two Z30's and both have been perfect as far as the volume keys are concerned.

It's the first thing I checked when I received them.

If they had rattled, then they would have gone back. No excuse for bad workmanship. My OCD says so.

Never noticed this before. Dropped the phone this morning, then noticed a bit of a rattle. Was a little concerned as the device is very new....a little search of the forums aided in identifying the source. When I hold the volume keys, no more rattling. Mind. At. Ease.
