Last night my wife was surfing on her laptop and exclaimed that she needed to write an email so she had one of our kids get her Z30 for her. She went on to say that she much preferred using her Z30 for writing emails even over her laptop! Just goes to show how awesome this phone is!

It's funny, I've often wished my desktop computer had flick typing. It's so much faster.

Particular with emails, I'd rather use my Z30 over the laptop. I hardly use our customer PC which I've built a year a ago. Such wasteful.

I have written before about this, BlackBerry should think of building a keyboard for desktops.

I bought a passport on the launch day and I have found its much easier on my finders typing on the z30 touchscreen then the physical keyboard on the passport.

I am almost 59 and have noticed my hands now are getting carpal tunnel because of the repetitive motions of using a keyboard and mouse the past 30 years as a programmer and tech writer.

I may be just me,but I found when pressing down on the physical keys, my thumbs and fingers ached after a few minutes of typing emails and messages.

Now that I back on the z30, I can type must easier using a touch screen keyboard and my fingers don't ache as much, this is just my experience and maybe be different for other folks out there.

I still have my passport because I love the device and I hoping after I talk to my doctor about the issue with my fingers and maybe with some medicine it will improve the issue with my hands.

Then maybe I can go back and try the passport again. Until then I am back rocking on my z30 with 10.3.1.632.

Actually not everyone one can do that, I know I can't, thus for ME typing on the Z30 is better

I find it hard to go back to typing with Windows after my first purchase of the Z10 and then Z30. Using my 9850 Torch I still preferred Windows for emailing but now with BlackBerry 10 I kinda hate typing on a regular keypad.

I can type dramatically faster on my computer than I can on my phone. But, that being said, I'm no slouch on the Q10 keyboard, either.

Surprisingly not everyone can type with all 10 fingers on the keyboard! My dad used to type on the keyboard with 2 fingers only and it took him forever to write an email.

After using my Z30 to type and send emails my typing skills on a regular keyboard have gone to sh*t. When I have to use my laptop keyboard I find myself waiting for it to decipher and correct my sloppy typing and then I remember no matter how long I wait, its not going to happen! I would love to see this awesome BlackBerry technology on a computer keyboard. I'd be first in line!

I prefer my z30 over my iPhone 5 for typing, but a full keyboard wins everytime for me. I have found that since replacing my BlackBerry Curve with a z10 and then z30 I am writing fewer emails on my phone.

That's because you don't have any practise. PC kayboards have the potential to type a lot quicker than phones

True, if the only thing allowed is typing each individual letter.

My typing speed using standard metrics is 45 wpm on the PC. I type consistently 28 wpm using the Q10, and 24 wpm on the Z30 with no Word Prediction turned on.

The big advantage is the astounding Word Prediction routines of BlackBerry 10. With WP, I achieve >60 wpm with high accuracy with either the Q10 or the Z30, which is better than the PC for me.

My wife is actually a very proficient touch typist. When I asked her why she preferred to use her Z30, she said it was because of the whole user experience. The total time and ease to get in, draft an email, and send it is faster and more enjoyable with her Z30 as opposed to using her laptop even though she may actually type faster on the laptop.

I totally get what she is saying. Honestly, I use my Z30 for everything...surfing, email, word, etc. The only I thing I use an actual windows computer for anymore is to backup my Z30 and load leaked software.
