I will never like a slider and even it it's light it will still be better without a never used slide out keyboard. To me they are just dorky.

I went from the Z10 to the Passport to a temporary classic now to Z30. BlackBerry and Bell screwed me on my Passport warranty so the Z30 is a stop-gap until something better comes along.

I used to have a keyboard device, but then tried the Z10, and am now hooked on the BlackBerry virtual keyboard. Now with the Z30 it's even better. I suppose with the Venice, you wouldn't have had use the physical keyboard and just use the virtual one, but then you'd end up with a bunch of unused technology in your pocket. I think I will wait until there is an all touch phone with better specs than the Z30 before I upgrade.
Z30 STA100-5 on 10.3.2.2168
After all this time, Z30 continues to deliver !!
I only wish that the slider will not be an "Android only" device, or I am going to be sad.
Simply put, BlackBerry 10 is a perfect tool for everyday's use.
;)
The slider is supossed to be a bar form factor with the phisical keyboard under the screen when the user slides it out, making it a very very long bar device. I think it's gonna be as heavy as the Z30 at least, so writing with both hands will be terrible since the weight of the phone will pull the phone to the floor requiring extra force from the user to hold it while writing, definitely uncomfortable. Also it won't be possible to write with that keyboard in horizontal position.
So, I don't think it's an upgrade. I would have preferred a physical keyboard coming out from the side of the phone and wide as the one on the Passport. leaving the screen in a comfortable angle to write and see (just like the Nokia N97 was)
This exactly. and if no BB comes with these specs, i am off to Android. We don't need no stinkin pkb!
A full touch flagship or it's buh bye.
So true
U have a point and I think I'll do the same I love my z30 but if not successor to my z30 Samsung s6 here I come
The only reason I would upgrade is for a faster and more better z30
I really can't separate from my z30 but if they don't come out with a upgrade then I'll go android to my beloved Samsung s6
I would never pick the passport over the z30
True I wish to
How did you load Google Play Store?
This post was in relation to an earlier post (my reply somehow didn't show under that)
Are you listening Chen?
If not, then you are truly the 1d10t it is beginning to appear you are.

The 214 of us looking for a Z30 all touch replacement doesn't amount to a hill of beans.
Devices are irrelevant to the big picture for BlackBerry. Chen is just the first one smart enough to figure that out.

I've got the Classic for work... the Z30 is my main machine... I've no desire to change...

I have a Z10, and I'm waiting for the slider. I'd like a Z30, but I don't like the idea of using my upgrade for a phone that is a year-and-a-half old, especially since I still love my Z10 despite the crap battery. I've thought about just getting a used Z30 for Verizon, but I think I can wait several more months for the slider. I'd have bought a Passport for sure if I could get one that works on Verizon.
Upgrade or a new Z30 successor!

Loved the torch. z10 was great. But the z30, outstanding. I hope they upgrade the form.
Z30 is soon going to be 2 yrs old. Now, it's time for more advanced fast processor, display and RAM. More importantly, full access of Google services to be able to use some useful apps. I hate keeping two devices one of email (BB) and other Android for apps.
Z30 10.3.2.2339 thru CB10
I liked my Z30 until I got my Leap. I like the build of Z30 but Leap isn't bad. I understood I was buying Z20 (Leap) so I wasn't expecting upgrade and with company practically dead in hardware, lucky they still make any phones. I get LTE with Leap but not with Z30 since it doesn't have AT&T Band 17. 4G HSPA sucks compared to LTE so I won't complain about Leap unless somebody can get me developer Z30 model with Band 17.
If you want a Z30 upgrade, then it makes perfect sense you didn't get any of the phones that were NOT Z30 upgrades.
The best thing about BB10 really, is its lasting power. Battery issues aside (hey, there were there from day one!) a Z10 is as good a device now as it was when launched. Same can be said for all the lineup.
Don't like the new devices? Keep the one you have.
I won't leave the Z30 untill BlackBerry offers something I want. And i don't want a gimmicky trackpad. I don't really want a physical keyboard (BB10's fault). I don't want to downgrade on hardware.

In the absence of extraordinary circumstances, I will usually keep my phone until they are dead and buried. Constantly having to keep up with the latest and greatest is a very expensive habit and one that I do not entertain.
Someone was offering me two brand new Z30s for my 6 month old mint condition Passport, I said dude let's do the damn thing.
That how I entered the Z30 arena and I will leave the arena when the phone is either damaged beyond repair or it has been with me a few years and it's just time to move on.

All around solider drive in my Z30, except I wish the camera was better and the ecosystem was more complete with more apps so I don't have to rely on the Amazon app store...
If Chen weren't such an 1d10t he would realize that if 214 out of 216 people who know about it find it a great device that needs a replacement... just think how brilliant he would be if he simply told a few hundred million people about it?!
