Hey guys I bought a new BB z30 recently black in India . This was the best phone i had ever used. Believe me I have used sony ericsson phones, iphone 4, 4s, HTC phones, Galaxy s2 ,s3. The operating system is Fabulous, smooth, no lags etc The camera is so awesome.
I like everything about the phone. But the problem began after the 3rd day when I started using it to make calls and use internet (3g, WIFI). When I made calls I realized that the ear through which I was hearing the call was hot n paining little bit. (The phone was 1 cm away from my ear during calls)
The duration of the call was 2mins maximum. I tried both ears but the result was same. I thought it was all in my head and proceeded to use the phone normally. The next day I made calls using Viber(App) on wifi this time after 3min of talking on speaker phone my right ear started paining like hell. Initially it was bearable but within minutes the pain was too much. This lasted for 2 hours and at the end of it my ear was normal. The next day I used watsapp messenger for 2mins on 3g and the ear pain (right ear) started again. So I thought something was wrong with my ear. I got it checked with an e&t specialist he suggested that I minimize cell phone usage, speaker phone use etc and said nothing was wrong with my ear.
So from next day I started using ear phones but the same thing happened. After some days it came to a point that I could no longer hold the phone in my hand (with 3g or wifi turned on) because of the ear pain. This was a sharp pain which make you wanna regret buying this phone. I changed the mobile phone carriers too. I saw an article on blackberry forum Pain in my ear - BlackBerry Support Community Forums
which was similar to what I was experiencing. I asked the suppliers of the phone to replace the cell phone, they were least bothered about my problem and said they can replace the phone only if it was damaged when arrived or defective. So sadly I had to send it back to them and get the money back. I am so adjusted to the BB phone, the Operating system Rocks. I don't find any phone's OS good after using BB10 , I have money but don't wanna buy other phone,this is my current state.
What is the source of my problem is it the high SAR raiting, defective phone, my ears etc
I had used BB curve(model no unknown) in 2012 for 1 week to check the effects of high SAR rating but nothing had happened at that point of time. I have no problem using other phones like iphone, htc phones etc This was my 1st blackberry, the phone is good but the experience that I had was not.
Has anyone experienced this problem, plz need advice

I've been using BlackBerry devices for years and haven't heard of this problem before. I'm using a Z30 right now as well, and I'm on conference calls from it most of my days.

I would say that it's a defective device (speaker issue?), but you had pain when using a headset as well, correct?

Sorry...but this is a new one for sure!

Might be a small coincidence of you having an ear ache and not being conscious about it until you put the phone to your head

Yes i had pain when I used headset too

Go see a doctor. There's no way this could be caused by your phone and also your headset.

BlackBerry z30 wouldn't be reason for your pain, go to E.N.T specialist and find correct reason.

Am from india using BlackBerry z30 sta100-5 since 6 months, earlier to which used z10 for 14 months.
Had not issues and enjoyed the best.

Haven't heard of this issue! I think yours is a faulty piece! Buy a new one with the money you got or you can wait for the classic or the passport

Weird.....usually I need to smash my Z30 against my ear with the volume cranked up to hear it. ;-)
