    Hello:

It's been a while since I had a blackberry and I find myself in the market for a new phone. After researching a lot of possibilities, the Z30 is on my short list of possibilities. I am also considering a HTC One M8 because of the speakers. I don't use a ton of apps (A few games and mostly media things like youtube and iheart radio). I became very interested in the Z30 when the price dropped $200 this month and lucky me I will have the money to buy it if I want to. I think the phone will work for what I want out of it (I am on T-Mobile so no worries about using the unlocked Z30) but I have read some of the threads about Digital River and shipping issues. Some threads seem to say that everything goes OK and others say that Digital River is less than ideal including one thread about a preorder yet to be filled and a hold on the credit card that can't be removed. My concern is that I would be using either a debit card and/or my bank account for the funds to buy the phone. I don't want to end up in a less than ideal situation where my money is debited and no phone and/or communication about it.

My question is based on the fact I don't have a real credit card to use, is the risk of dealing with digital river worth it for what is from what I can tell an awesome phone? I look forward to hearing all responses. Thanks.

Actually the price of the Z30 on ShopBlackberry is $299. It's a great phone that you will not be disappointed in. DR may have their problems but I'm sure everyone eventually gets what they've ordered. If you don't get what you order and pay with Paypal or a CC you have resources available to get your money back.

It's my favourite BlackBerry10 phone next to my Passport ; I'm partial to real keys, it seems, but I really like my Z30 for the screen, dependability and OS.

I have never had an issue purchasing from ShopBlackBerry (BlackBerry Smartphones & Accessories ? Buy Unlocked Phones, Cases, Chargers, Batteries, Bluetooth Accessories & More) and their follow-on service has been good. I have purchased both phones and accessories from them with no issues. If you're getting the Z30 please do yourself a favour and pick up this case (or the white one): BlackBerry US Online Store - Z30 Leather Flip Case - Black

I think the sound on the Z30 is great. The best of any phone I've been in contact with. I've also seen the Z30 speakers compared favorably with the HTC One speakers by reviewers, for what it's worth.
I'm not the biggest fan of AMOLED screens, but the Z30 screen has grown on me. I can appreciate the power savings over LCD screens.
The best part about BB10 may be the Hub and going in and out of multiple messaging options, and the ability to see and respond to messages in something like FB without having to actually go into the app. It's just very smooth and efficient, imo.
And I love the swiping! Once you get used to it, everything else just seems so...mundane...

Thanks for all the replies so far. The only reason I considered the HTC was that I could go to the T-Mobile store, pay for it and get it right then. I am glad that it seems so far that the service from Shop Blackberry is really great for those that have replied. I am 95% convinced to get the Z30 and just wish my money would get here so I can spend it. I would still appreciate hearing about more experiences with Shop Blackberry.

Z30 is a brilliant phone, as has been stated above I agree with all the comments.

However I've smashed my screen twice in the space of about 4 months, used to drop my Z10 allot too and that never broke once. So 100% get a case!!

I have had my Z30 for over a week now and have found it to be a great device. I had a Z10 and enjoyed using it so much that I was a little hesitant to give it up. Now after my time with the Z30 I can say that I do not have any regrets. I wish I had purchased a Z30 sooner!

All I can say is go for it.

Z30 feels very premium and it performs very well. For $299 I feel like I got a huge bargoon and I'm not locked to a 2 year contract either!

Best of all - a full day of battery every day!!

What many have found is the way you get good service through ShopBlackberry (Digital River) is pay the few extra bucks for priority shipping. That's what I did, and the phones showed up quickly.

Go with the Z30, I chose it (reluctantly) but the battery life is nothing short of amazing! Very snappy and fluid especially with the latest leak.

The z30 has better speakers than the m8. Slightly clearer and louder. Also the z30 speaker placement allows the sound to amplify when you place it back-down against a hard surface.
