Just loaded 10.3.1.2582. Device (Z30) became more responsive, lot faster. Next few days will show if there are some remaining. My biggest headache are the ringtones that were failing miserably on contacts that were customized. Phone ringtones were OK but Txt msg and BBM did not work half of the time. If I received several msgs one after another the first one played the ringtone for 2-3 seconds, second one did not play at all or played default one. Plus there is a delay when you place the call for about 2-3 seconds. On happy note I am happy that BlackBerry is addressing those issues and I see steady progress towards eliminating the bugs.

I don't know much about them but what if someone started one of those petitions where folks can sign on. In this case create one pointedly blaming BB for killing the screen with a very flawed, faulty OS upgrade that they pushed out to users. Try getting it to the attention of the media.

Speaking of media, tv and newpapers sometimes have ombudsmen.who investigate consumer complaints. Could try interesting one of those in this issue.

I think BB should take ownership of this issue. They caused phone problems that appear to be irrevocable by issuing this faulty update.

Run some tests. Ringtones still don't work the way the are supposed to. Switch default ringtones to the ones that came with new OS. Didn't help. Still after 2-3 seconds are being disconnected. There is still lag when placing the call.
Let the new software stabilize then I will try to run more tests.

No issues encountered after software upgrade apart from my BBW refusing to open but after using the recover tool it's all good...

Updated STA100-5 TO 10.3.1.2258 ..No issues so far. Let the batter drain and charged it..it came back..no issues

I too am on. 2258 and overall it has been good. The only complaint would be the "laggy" feel when opening apps.
Now I have. 2282(1784) available for download and not sure if I should download it considering my current OS is working just fine. Anyone who did the last update have any issues?

no bad issues for me so far and its only been 2 days for 10.3, i too have the delay after answering a call, but i lost the lag / freeze up after sending a text and now i see my battery life is so much better now but the amazon apps sure suck 100% and i just hope i dont get the blank screen virus like some others i saw got.

Z30 STA100-2 Unlocked

1. Had to security swipe and clean install after a long list of errors. A PITA to re-install all apps.

2. Total mess in syncing contacts with gmail account. From aprox. 800 contacts I ended up with 1.060 contacts due to syncing errors.

2. Phone lags terrible when answering calls. I get an ear massage every time the phone vibrates after 2 seconds I tapped the answer button.

3. Volume buttons lags terribly or does not work at all at times.

BlackBerry just got another nail in its coffin after not adressing these issues. They showed that they couldn't care less about Z30 users. We paid already, they cashed it, "let's focus on Passport and Leap, we already fouled Z30 buyers".

BlackBerry should have a program where you send in the invoice for a new screen and the broken screen and they refund you the cost of the screen and postage.

Using Z10 since BlackBerry broke my Z30.

I believe at this point we can definitely rule out something in the OS update updated the firmware, as some people have implied.

- Some people were able to get the screen working again after multiple resets. Resets don't fix firmware changes.
- If it was firmware, replacing your screen wouldn't have worked.
- There were reports of Z30 screens having issues prior to the recent OS update.

I find the update excellent on my Z30, no problems. One app doesn't work but that's all. Battery lasts forever.

Only issue I noticed was when I answer a call the vibrate keeps vibrating and it takes a second for the caller to hear me.

plus I cannot turn off the keyboard sounds even with the slider all the way slit to the left. Only way to turn them off is enterin a "silent" profile with the crossed bell on display.

and I cannot back up the phone via BB link. it's just not working. at all

will there be a fix? especially the vibrating while connecting the call is super annyoing

Everything ok except minor wifi drops, which can really be a pain at times.
