Honestly with the hardware pairing and a 2800-2880mah battery.....I think we will see best in class battery life of any current flagship smartphone...save for the Razr Maxx which I believe is only on Verizon now.

I hope so....this is one concern I have and why I am likely to skip the device. Although this morning I'm getting an unprecedented outstanding battery life on my Z10. From 5:30 to 10:00 this morning I'd only dropped 85%....I was very happy.

Also sometimes one gets rapid battery drain for no apparent reason. If you don't have the ability to swap out a spare it's a dead phone for you!

    Battery life is solid.
While I can still kill it in one day with heavy usage (several hours of Candy Crush will do it), it far exceeds the Z10 or any other in-market devices I've used.

It's definitely a strong selling point for the Z30.

Fabulous!! Stellar battery life on a device that does not deserve, in any way, to be called a "flagship" device. But, then again, there has to be ONE spec on that thing that people can cheer about.

It might not out-spec Android hardware, it definitely does for all current BB10 devices.

Keep in mind the spec war was created by competing Android OEMs. Outside of that realm it doesn't play a big role (look at the iPhone as an example).

All I can tell you is that the Z30, on pre-release software, run much smoother than my Z10 ever did.

Barely, and that is a really big problem.

Not sure if I misread this or you were being sarcastic.

If you lost 85% that's not good. If you lost 15% that's ok.

Some days are good and some days are not. I have chargers at work, home, car, office. Still waiting on a price drop on the BA batteries. Trust me......No one has forgotten about battery life. I doubt if it will be a major selling point for some to upgrade from the Z or the Q.

If it takes 2gb of RAM to function I think they better get into a spec race.

FFS. 2800 or 2880mah battery. Why two values? I don't understand why you have quoted two values.

The new 5" Xperia Z1 will arrive with 3000 mA and the new Note 3 is 5.7" and comes with 3,200mAh - as always, BB about 6-12 months behind the curve, there's not much they can tout here.

Older hardware had a 2800mah battery, newer models have 2880mah. I would go with the latter for launch hardware.

    Wtf!?

That battery with a 720p display and smaller processor will generate a exceptional battery experience obviously. Dont be a fool.

The z1 has a triluminous 1080p display. No comparison.

    Good lord.

    Ouch...

...you realize that the resolution difference will account for ~10% or less difference?
It's the size and the panel type/generation that mainly matter (beyond GPU, CPU, thread/core and resource management etc), just FYI.

    Good Lord, indeed.

720p AMOLED will obviously be much more energy efficient then a triluminous 1080p LCD. You know this...you're just being negative for negative sake. Its lame, its tired, its old.

Z30 will have exceptional battery life which of course can be a marketable feature few other phones have.

I don't know and you don't know either - as a matter of fact nobody knows as it is a new-gen Sony screen while Z30 will likely come with some current/older tech panel.

Empty claim, pulled out of thin air. To paraphrase someone silly on this forum 'you know this...you're just being positive for positive sack.' (Sic!)
Also 'its lame, its tired, its old.' :P

Why do you think it's takes 2gb to run bb10? 10.1 for me with CB app forums running leaves me with about 800 mb available. This is the first big update/optimization for the brand new OS and my z10 rarely if ever lags.10.2 and beyond will surely bring even more optimization.

More you optimize the less you gain, it's a pretty quick death curve, you can optimize only so much... RAM is important for running multiple apps simultaneously especially multiple Android apps. Not only that but it costs next to nothing nowadays - witness the new Note 3 with 3GB memory...
