If anything, aside from iOS, BlackBerry 10 is the only other standardized mobile OS right now.

They made it very clear from the beginning what resolutions would be required for support across all their devices. It's up to EA to support them. When the Z10 launched they shouted loud and clear to devs that it would have a unique resolution (difference of 48 pixels) because they decided to go with 720p for all phones from then on.

Why did they do that? I don't know. My best bet is that by the time they decided on standards, they were already too far along in Z10 production. Keep in mind they had the Z10 prototypes going for a year or two before it was even announced.

And the next phone will have 1080P if there is a next phone.

Lol I have cut the rope on my z30, again restored from my backup of my z10.
Works perfectly fine but looking thru bbworld, it doesn't show up. But as I restored from a backup, it's on my z30.

So essentially people are forced to do work arounds?

If you still use the same BlackberryID on your z30 as you did on the z10, try going into AppWorld >> All >> My World >> MyApps&games >> Available. Check and see if any of the "unsupported on z30" apps are reinstallable from here.

This is strange. I'm used to Google Playstore and apple store where once you join on the new device everything is just installed and updated for you with a couple of exceptions.

From my Z30 when I am in BlackBerry World, any app/game not supported by the Z30 is not listed as available.

And yes, I use the same BBID on my Z30 as I did with my Z10.

Same here. Nada. It's ironic. I have more Android apps on the z30 now than I have normal ones.

I didn't have to do any work around. As I said when I restored from my z10 backup, all my apps came with it.

If you are setting up the phone from new then those apps won't show up, which is something that the devs if those apps need to fix.

A while back, I needed to switch from one Z10 to another (long story). When I got the new Z10, I attempted to restore the old Z10 data to the new Z10. Since I am on BlackBerry Balance through work, an unexpected thing happened. Automatic Security Wipe.

So for security reasons, I cannot access the data from the old Z10. I guess I cannot perform the same workaround. ****.

Thank you ESCON for your suggestion. Compiling a list really puts it into perspective. Some of the apps/games I had in mind were on the PlayBook and not BB10.

From this list, I see that Electronic Arts is by far the worst offender here. I take back what I said about Unity as it appears they have closed the gap. Gameloft is only missing 1 game.

OK, that's strange. I see the same thing on T-Mobile US. Seems like it should be an easy fix for EA since the migrated apps work. So, either EA hasn't gotten to it or they are intentionally walking away from BlackBerry. At least I can still get Plants vs. Zombies.

Even though there are a lot of apps that simply can't be found due to compatibility, there are also a bunch of apps that don't handle the fact the Z30 is 48 pixels shorter. Quite a few of my apps are cutoff. It's a shame but all I can do is wait now...

If you restore from backup, you technically can get Animoog. The only issue is the pixel difference cuts off the top.

I was shocked my favorite game cut the rope was not available for the z30. I ended up restoring my old z10 backup into the new z30 and the game works!

I do know that kalemsoft guys tends to browse through the forums, maybe we could approach them and see if there's a chance to make it compatible.

They can select what kind of phone to boot up in the simulator as a stop-gap until they get a real phone. I believe the simulator lets you select from all three device types for a split second while booting up.
