Anyone else encounter this on the z30? I've only been getting edge service when not on wifi which is weird because I get 4G and 4GLTE on my passport.

Getting it in Northern Virginia and all over DC Metro area. Check your setting and make sure you have it setup to run on 4G.

Which model z30 are you running? I wonder if that has anything to do with it? This is how I currently have it set up...

    BlackBerry Z30 smartphone STA100-2: Quad band FD-LTE (1, 3, 7, 8, 20) + MIMO / Quad band UMTS/HSPA+ (1, 2, 5/6, 8) / Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE

    BlackBerry Z30 smartphone STA100-5: Tri band FD-LTE (4, 5, 7) + MIMO / Quad band UMTS/HSPA+ (1, 2, 4, 5/6) / Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE

T-Mobile's biggest LTE deployment is on Band 4, which is AWS 1700, they also have support on bands 2 (1900) and 12 (700a). So looks like your phone doesn't have the proper LTE or UMTS/HSPA+ bands.

Thanks for this piece of information. I wish amazon, blackberry and their vendors would spend more time informing their consumers of this. I just ordered the sta100-5 and will be returning this sta100-2. Unfortunately I spent over an hour setting everything up to my liking.

    Thanks again!!!

The 5 works well on T-Mobile. Doesn't support everything, but covers the most important band for them. The STA100-1 would be the best for both AT&T and T-Mobile, but BlackBerry didn't produce it since neither officially picked up the device. Also you won't get WiFi Calling with any Z30 model.

Thanks. As long as I get 4GLTE and not just edge I'll be content. Wish I knew off the bat.

Receive 4G LTE in Los Angeles with TMO and a STA100-5 Z30. Consistent with earlier post, I don't get WIFI calling on that phone. Believe I did with the Z10, but it's a been while since I had the Sim card in the Z10.
