Do you use your BB10 phone for mobile payment? If you do, how to set it up?

    Thanks!

Download the Tim Hortons application, buy a Tim Card at your local Tim's, register the card online or on your phone, log in on your phone and off you go.

If you want auto reload you have to do that online and you have to buy a physical card first before you can use the app on your phone.

When you go to pay at the cash make sure you tell them you are paying with your TIM'S CARD and the way you go !!

    Cheers !!

Worked the first time for me.

    Didn't the last two times.

Maybe it's because I didn't say I wanted to pay with my tims card?

Could it be because I said mobile payment?

Yes, you need to say that you are paying via Tim's Card. I think it's fantastic.

Some locations don't have their system updated for it. I find these to be Tim Hortons outlets instead of stores.

I also ran into a machine where the terminal was not working, but that was for all tap payments

I use my Blackberry 10 Timmy Me app every morning to pay. Say you're paying with a Tim's card and it will work every time!
Also take note of the workers face when they see you tap your phone on the terminal. Always gets a good reaction when they hear the beep to signify the payment went through

Mine worked fine for a couple of weeks then just decided to stop working. It always begins the transaction the says it was cancelled. Not sure what happened but I have a boat load of money registered to that app. Sad thing is I disabled the physical card after loading to my phone. Now I have to buy another gift card and transfer my balance to that. So from my experience.... don't cancel your physical card after loading to your phone....

You canceled your physical card. The information in your phone is just an extension of your physical card. You canceled your card hence you are not able to use the phone for payment.

Interesting, I emailed Tim Hortons about their app not working for payments and haven't heard back from them. Why am I not surprised. I like to be a patriotic Canadian, but this would not happen with Starbucks. At least in terms of the lack of response to an email.

Is mobile payment option only available for Tim Hortons? I read from somewhere that we can use the phone in many other stores, is that true and do we have to have a CIBC account to take advantage of that?

Yeah, that is totally different. You need to have an nfc sim card, service through rogers and cibc? As your bank.

No, when you transfer your amount to the phone it gives you the option to disable the card just in case you lose it or it gets in the wrong hands. It was an option that the app asked me if I wanted to do. I did the same with the card before that one and it worked fine.

I tried to email them twice and the email bounces back undelivered. I tried through the app on bbworld.
