Hi there,

I got a new Verizon Z30, but using it here in Toronto on the Bell Network. I have an existing z10 and I tried to use the switch device option in BlackBerry Link. The process commenced and it first performed a backup of my z10. However, when it tried to restore the backup to the z30, I got an error message that said it couldn't restore since the OS version of the z30 is older than the OS version of the z10. In looking at the OS versions:

z10 - 10.2.1.3175
z30 - 10.2.1.2180

I've checked for updates multiple times in the settings menu but it keeps saying I have the latest version. Any idea why I'm not able to get the update to 10.2.1.3175 so that I can restore my backup?

The 3175 was never released in the states for the Z30. It was a leak that everyone loaded. If the Z30 is new, I suggest you download the OS you want to load on it, using autoloader install the OS and THEN do device switch.

The OS you have on the Z30 is the newest one VZW has, I believe.

Thanks Jaydee ... but I also assumed that since I am using a Bell sim card, that it would automatically pull the update from Bell's network.

Hmm ... I guess I need to learn how to use the autoloader. Since I'm connected to my employer's BES, I have never ventured to the "wild side".

You can also back up your contacts etc. to the external memory card from "old" device then swap cards into "new" device and you should be good to go. That what I did on my 9850 to Z30.

A new update just came out. Released to unlocked phones from blackberry, so you probably won't get it,but it's a lot snappier than 3175. I had problems after 3175. it'll probably become an autoloader soon.

Just checked on Z30 Wind Canada not yet updated.

Just use sachesi, after the restore I'd update to Z30STA100-5/10.2.1.3247. I had issues with 3175 I had data connectivity issues, active frames randomly closing, poor battery, Multiple email delete was an issue.

Z30STA100-5/10.2.1.3247 on ATT ?
