Without a 1080p screen, 32GB hard drive, and a quadcore CPU, I won't get z30. I already have z10 and I don't need another z10 phone. Regardless of how you want to spin, z30 is another version of z10. If you don't own a z10, you may like z30. Otherwise, it's not tempting.

*IF* it isn't 1080p then it is.

That being said it really lools.like 1080p... I admit it looks awesomely fast and got some decent design there... if all these are true and v10.2 indeed brings decent Android 4.2 performance then I'll give BB another chance and get this device from TMO.

It's not 1080p....but that goes to show how hard it is to tell the different since you think it looks like it.

So amusing seeing all the people who claim "BB10 doesn't need faster CPU" going gaga over the improved speed of this Z30.

Just to make it clear, the faster speed you're seeing in the video isn't because of 10.2 or 'tweaked software'. It's because of a faster, higher clocked chipset in the Z30. Specs really do matter, no matter how good you think you've got it at the moment.

I will definitely get this Z30 on release to replace my Q10. Large screens are the way to go these days unless you're Apple.

BlackBerry keeps pushing out new devices but they still need to fix the app issue. My bank TD Bank has check depositing via their app and of course it not available for blackberry! This app alone would save me in gas driving to the bank twice a week.
Its good to see new devices but they need the bells and whistles to go with them!

It's both actually. People that have been loading it up on their Z10s and Q10s have also noticed a noticeable improvement in speed.

Video says AMOLED but the specs page 2 shows OLED.

If it was OLED that would be amazing!

It IS 1080p, I bet, the five rows, 11 messages (other screenshots) clearly indicate it.

And no, it is absolutely NOT hard to tell in real life.

    - They are testing four variants of the phone, one of which includes quad core also. You got to understand quad core wont necessarily make any difference if the Dual core is able to run it just as well. If the Quad-core showcases considerable gains compared to Dual-Core (Battery, everyday usability etc) then BlackBerry will put Quad-Core, if it does not then they will go with Dual-Core. What matters is how the OS and hardware optimized is and with Z10 and Q10 they have proved that BB10 runs very well with a Dual-Core.

It's a perception thing. Dual core SoCs are seen as 2012-ish. There's a reason why Motorola Engineers are taking to blogs to explain why their dual core solution is not inferior to the Quad core powerhouses.
Basically, to the uninformed customer, Quad Core >>> Dual Core. That has a direct effect on sales.

The Z30 is going fail. Not nearly as many people are going to buy it compared to the Z10 and Q10 devices. Because one it doesn't have a removable battery and as we saw in the Z10 and Q10 devices with the OS not always working 110% no one is going to be able to do a battery pull if the device OS crashes or in any other case were a battery pull is required. Two, the camera technology in this device is at least two to three generations old, anyone looking to get this device to replace their iPhone 5 or Samsung will be disappointed in this device.

There is a hard reboot that doesn't require a battery pull.

I'm thinking now that they ought to release it with less than leading-edge specs, but price it agressively
I think the leaked version (dual-core, 8MP camera etc) priced well below the Z10/Q10's introductory price will sell much better than a quad-core monster priced like a GS4 or Nokia 1020.

Given it is named the Z30, maybe we can expect a 4.6-inch Z20

I'm hoping that the Z30 is leaked info on an upgraded Z10 that is quad core. And that the Aristo is a yet to be named X00 device.

This would explain why Z10s are seemingly disappearing in the USA.

If the reboot problem is a real hardware issue on the Z10, this would make a nice easy way to rev the hardware while not admitting a hardware design issue.

Personally I wouldnt waste money on it, Im a blackberry fan I bought Z10 on release and im made up with it, I dont see the point in basically another Z10. Been improved I agree but my phone plays and can use near enuf any android app/game and I have everything I need. I dont think this will attract more to blackberry than the z10 did tbh.

But hope im wrong and hope blackberry do well

I hope you are right but do you know that for a fact because all the leaked info so far has it at 720? Do you have a source for that info?
