I heard good things about Blackberry OS 10.2 and Z30. Just switched to Z30 from Nexus 5 which I was using since November 2013, and before that iphone 5. After opening Z30 box, when I picked up the phone it seems heavy as compared to Nexus 5, which is not an issue though Z30 feels solid and well made. I am liking the swiping gestures and also the blackberry hub. Browser and maps appears to be fine. Now I am wondering how come I did not switch to blackberry 10 before, well it is never too late.

Welcome to CrackBerry and BlackBerry! BlackBerry 10 is a great OS, one only needs to give it time to learn, and understand it.

Awesome!! Glad to hear you made the switch.

Keep us updated on how things go with your new Z30. I've used iPhone 5, HTC One and countless other phones, the Z30 is by far my most favorite to date.

Don't get frustrated, hold the space key to drop the keyboard.

Or simply tap elsewhere outside of the typing area to drop the keyboard... can also multiple finger swipe down.

How are you finding the switch with respect to screen quality? That Nexus 5 has a beauty of a display, with a much higher ppi than the Z30.

The Z30 bests it with better battery life and and great OS, but the Nexus is sweet for its display, Google service integration and camera.

I'd like to know this too. After looking at the Z30 in the shop with a Nexus 5 right next to it, the display on the z30 turned me off it.

my partner has an iphone and i was using it the other day to look at something on the AppStore.....I tried to swipe up to unlock the screen...that didn't work too well....the screen is so tiny compared to even the Z10 (he's got the iPhone 3GS, so its still a tiny 3.5" screen)....One of these days i'm going to get a Z30 or if it takes too long and they have a Z50 or a BB10 Torch-like device, i'll get it.....but the Z10 so far has been perfect for me.....and if the Z30 is better....i'm still going to be very impressed....i love my Z10 and even if I get a Z30, i'm keeping the Z10 b/c its so awesome...

When I look at the screen resolution of the Nexus 5 with Z30 placed side by side, definitely N5 looks so much better. For everyday use Z30 screen resolution is great. Better battery life and BB10 OS of Z30 more than makes up the difference in resolution. N5 is fast due to quad core processor and pure android experiece without any manufacturer bloatware. Although Z30 has dual core processor but I have not experienced any lag. Camera wise both are at par. My experience with Z30 so far has been pleasant.

Coming from iphone and Android ecosystem, I was initially apprehensive about moving to Blackberry 10 due to lack of apps. Now what I find is the most of the apps I need are already on Z30 pre-installed. And others I have found in Blackberry World and downloaded. So far so good !!!
