If you have the media centre, WDTV Live, you should install the latest firmware cuz it adds Miracast functionality. All the new BB10 phones (except the Z10) include Miracast.

My Z30 connects immediately to the WDTV when I select "share screen" under Settings / Display.

Music plays smoothly and nicely. Videos play without any choppiness. Games mostly play fine altho with a little lag (the image on the HDTV screen may be a quarter of a second behind the phone's screen)... so the player needs to hold the phone and play the game on the phone. Other people in the room, waiting their turn to play, can watch the game on the big screen without noticing the lag relative to the phone screen.

As I detailed in another thread in this forum, I got a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter to work with several "old iron" monitors and TVs. Awesome! This technology does NOT use the z30 hdmi port. Check out insane Ken Block's video featuring his 845 hp AWD 1965 Mustang . (Gymkhana 7) pumped to your old iron TV and sound system .

I did the WDTV Live update a few weeks ago as well and love it.

I watch my free NHL Game centre to catch all the Bruins games. Works like a dream.

The Z30 is great but the WDTV box is turning out to be an awesome little purchase in itself.

Yes, I got mine over 2 years ago on sale for about $70. It has been quite the little gem.

OMG, I did this post with my old Aquos TV, Microsoft WDA HDMI Miracast dongle, and my Z30! (Recall that this KYBD also has a mouse pad.) UNREAL TALL COTTON . FYI: Miracast is battery intensive!
