Updated it to 10.3.1 and I'm loving this OS/Phone combo but is it me or do the gestures/lock security not work correctly?

It works fine on mine, did you do a back up via link, i always set up like new and for some reason so far i have to do a wipe after loading the new OS , just seems to works better.
That's just the way i do it , and people have there ways,

What do you mean?

Is it about swiping to wake up phone?
Now you need to swipe up two times.

Hi seriously I had problems with my 10.3 OS after two months with gestures, contacts and many minor issues, it was then I decided to go back and stick to my default OS 10.2.. as 10.3 is on the verge of launch in Q1 2015, suggest roll back to your factory defaults and wait for a clean install of 10.3 once it is officially launched..

There is a feature in 10.3 which unlocks the phone when you pick it up from a flat surface, you need to enable this from settings.. see if this helps you. You don't need to swipe it upward to unlock if this feature is enabled..

Yes of course- the advanced gestures setting. In all honesty that may have been part of the problem because when I pick up the phone from a flat surface a certain way it would automatically bypass the lock screen (bug from before 10.3.1 when you grab the top of the screen while hitting the lock screen button it bypasses the lock screen and opens the phone) and so the picking up from a flat surface while holding the top of the phone does the same thing.

But the thing that was driving my insane was my phone at times not asking for a PW when I had just finished holstering the phone. Well it turns out my holster doesn't have a strong enough magnet to lock the phone which is a darn shame because it's a great holster! If my holster won't do the trick I'll have to figure something else out and while I don't want to set the time to less than what I have it set now I may have to...

Question: when the OS is officially released will I be able to update my phone without having to first reset/downgrade?

It depends what version BlackBerry officially releases...
If it's about what you have installed then yes.
If you have 1154 installed and 1151 is released then no.

I've been told that the classic is being shipped with 1151 so if that's what everyone gets you won't be able to.

It depends what version BlackBerry officially releases...
If it's about what you have installed then yes.
If you have 1154 installed and 1151 is released then no.

Hi guys my concern is I have already downgraded my phone from 1154 of 10.3 version to 10.2.1.3096 the official version from BlackBerry Server thru link.. if there is an update for z30 for any higher version say 10.3.xx, will I be able to upgrade my OS??
