So, we just came back from Cancun, after a great vacation. While on it, we began looking at some of other hotel guests having phones in ziplock-like bags/cases, so we got curious.

We walked to the mall closest to the hotel and found a small shop selling camera accessories. They also stocked similar cases, which turned out to be water proof and submersible to 10 meters.

Thus we decided to get two and tried them out (one for my gf's Q10 and the other for my Z30). These worked perfectly in low depth water in the hotel's beach. We couldn't try them in other activities, but they claim to work for snorkeling. Anyway, if you're planning a vacation on the beach, I highly recommend them, they're called "Dri-Dock" and this is their webpage: http://www.dri-dock.com/

The smartphone pouch (pictured with an iPhone) worked well with the Q10, even when having the premium hard sell case on. The large smartphone one works perfect for the Z30, even with a regular hard case on as well.

Both have connecting plugs for earphones and touchscreen commands work for the most part. Just be careful with water dripping and making the command instead of your fingers, lol!

They're also good for keeping sand and moist away from you phone. And pictures can also be taken quite decently underwater. I'm attaching an underwater shot and of the Q10 inside the pouch. Cheers!

You're a braver man than me. Not sure I'd have tested how waterproof it was with my phone inside. What if it hadn't been perfect - would it have been a post titled "don't trust waterproof cases"???

Nameless Star: Read the whole post dude! We took my Z30 and my gf's Q10 to the beach using these cases. I attached a picture of her Q10 inside the pouch as I didn't take one of my Z30...

You have to follow the instructions given with the case. They tell you to test the pouch with something worthless inside (like a piece of paper) and make sure there's no water going inside it. I did the test with both cases prior to each time we went to the beach.

P.S. I'm not promoting these cases or anything like that. I do, however, recommend them as decent working products if you plan to take your phone to the beach or even a rainy place.

You have to follow the instructions given by the manufacturer and make sure the case is working as intended before risking your phone. I'm very happy with how they performed and just thought other BlackBerry users could benefit from my post...

Great idea for the beach to avoid the sand.

But some things just shouldn't go anywhere near the water.

My z30 is one of them.

The idea behind these cases is precisely using that principle. They have a three zip-lock system, which are then folded and secured by the button cover seen in the pics.

I use this kind of case with my Z30 while kayaking (protected bay, not white water). Perfect for listening to music and podcasts while paddling. Can operate the touch screen very well inside the case. Careful to rinse and dry it (the case, duh) after each excursion.
    Winning.

    From my Z30...Awesome!
