I just swapped to a Z30 from an iphone 5s and my contacts who are still on iphones are getting my text messages but I don't get their replies.... any ideas???
I remember other people having similar issues. I believe the had to have Apple disassociate their phone number from I message. I'm sure someone else can give you a more detailed reply.
They are correct with disassociating your number from Apple's servers. If you still have your 5s just connect to WiFi and turn off iMessage. Apple reps usually say it might take up to 24 hours but if you're on the phone with Apple already you can have them remove your number.
This is the biggest hassle when going from iphone to another OS. I still have my iPhone and it's a pain to switch back and forth. I have been using the Q10 most of the time since I bought it though. Do what has been recommended already. You should be good to go.

Sign into supportprofile.apple.com and click edit products. Find your phone and any other devices that your number was associated with where you received iMessages by phone number. Click the X to remove them from being linked to your Apple ID.
Also, while not necessary but helpful, if you still have your iPhone and didn't wipe it, turn it on and go into Message settings and turn off iMessage.
That should solve your issues. Your friends with iPhone, well there phones are still recognizing your number as an iPhone and will continue to until you disassociate it.
I am trying... It is my family that I am concerned with.. They are actually mad that I switched... and then with the texting problem they are already saying "I told you so"....

Haha they are the one having a problem. So they realise that they are sending you iMessages even though you don't have an iphone ?
Also can call 1800myiphone to have them disassociate your number if you don't have access to your old phone still

Yeah, but it's 1-800-MY-APPLE instead. They may ask for the serial number so you'll either need the box or have to flip the phone on and skip through startup screens declining everything and then going into settings. It's stupid, they have the serial number because it's attached to your Apple ID, but sometimes the make you jump through hoops.
