BlackBerry is just not good at this... I mean what kind of mobile manufacturer puts a single space for apps, files, and the operating system? And claim to offer "16 GB of internal storage" which are good at nothing and get loaded directly and starts to cause issues...

I think the OP is saying how can BB promote 16gb's of storage, and use some of said 16gb of storage for system purposes, reducing the claimed storage to less than 16gb...Or maybe the OP was ordering take out, and was mistakenly connected to a BB RMA rep. Who knows!

How about if you bought a 64GB flash disk. Does it has accurate 64GB?. No
There's no OS, apps or whatever. But it has only 5x GB

9 GB are eaten by "the system". I keep getting annoying notifications about my internal storage being full and apps keep on crashing and I can't even download files to the media card because there is no enough storage on the phone? Huge BS.

That's almost 3 times what the OS should be using. Oh and clear your browser history. Backup and remove all the WhatsApp pics and files that were sent to you from contacts. You need to clean your device. I couldn't tell you exactly what the system is using. See my pic.

How did you download and/or install the OS upgrade? OTA? Sometimes, the storage (for download) and the decompression to install it can take up memory and sometimes NOT clear. Have you don't a RESET/reboot?

    Try a restart:

Press and HOLD both Vol Up/Down buttons. Keep holding while the screen goes fully black (ignore the screenshot), keep holding through the Black/White logo and when the Colored Logo shows up, release those buttons.

If you have a Z10: If you have the STL100-1 variant the volume button reset method doesn't work. In that case, Press and HOLD the Power On Button until you see the LOGO as above

But you are right - huge amount is being used by System. You might want to reload the OS using an autoloader. Yup, tedious and you have to reset/restore tons of stuff. You can try a backup and restore to make it less so.

I clean my browser history and media files sent to me via WhatsApp get saved to the media card. As you can see nothing is taking much space as the system. My files (screenshots and voice notes) are taking 2 Gb while apps are occupying nearly 2 Gb of memory...

Yeah the browser and WhatsApp things was just a "while you're at it" kind of suggestion. I would consider using an autoloader to start from scratch. 9GB is way too high.

Reload your OS via Link or autoloader and start afresh.

What if I did a security wipe, would it solve the problem?

If some initial update install files are still present on the system, I don't think doing a wipe will solve it but you can give it a shot.

Reloading or using autoloader will be my best option.

Download a fee program called "Disc Savvy", plug your device in to the PC, and let disc savvy analyse the memory usage. It will quickly tell you what files are taking up valuable space. You might be in for a surprise!

That's what's so nice on BlackBerry about having an "open" system, which allows one to "look inside", and fix things.

    Hope this helps.
