    Hi all,

First off, I just want to say that I am new to BB. I was an early adopter of the iPhone when it came out in '05-06? It wasn't even available in Canada...but a trip to NY, and I snatched one quick.

Moved on to the iphone 4, years later. I had a great run with it.

A month ago, being I decided to move on with apple. I couldn't get used to iOS7, hated it and the os just felt tired to me. So here I am a new BBZ30 customer and I absolutely LOVE this phone. My biggest issue though, is that I am unable to tether my BBZ30 to the ipad.

I've tried via bluetooth, via wifi...nothing works. I've searched around the net, i've tried changing the name of my phone, all sorts of things....nothing works.

I used to tether from my iphone4 all the time (either BT or wifi). Does ANYONE know why this isn't working? Its not just my iphone that can't connect, my dad's galaxy doesn't work, my laptop no go...my friends LG phone doesn't connect either. I do get the message "connected".... but the device that is trying to surf can't make a connection to the server.

    Any concrete Solutions?

That's weird. I've set it up as a hot spot and had multiple things connect at the same time with no issues.

This may be a carrier issue. Have you talked to them to see if they allow tethering?

Glad to hear that you're enjoying the Z30!

As John mentioned above, which carrier are you using and which country are you from? Some carriers don't allow the use of mobile Hotspot.

I just have to turn on Hotspot, setup a password and then I can have multiple devices like my tablet and laptop connected to my Hotspot and Voila~!

Thanks for the response John and nhanken,

I have not spoken to my carrier, as I never had an issue with the iPhone tethering to the ipad. So I'm a bit confused why one device could tether but the Z30 cannot. I am in Canada, connected to the ROGERS network. I am running 10.2.0.429

Honestly speaking, I have never used Tethering but always use mobile Hotspot ;p.

I am on Wind mobile so I don't know if Rogers puts any restrictions on Tethering for certain plans but it's odd that you used to be able to do so on an iPhone but not with a Z30.

I am running the leak OS 10.2.1.1925 STA-100-5 and Tethering is working fine (I just tested out) so I'm not sure if the 10.2.0 OS has anything to do with it.

Thanks for the response John and nhanken,

I was using the terminology interchangeably. Neither hot spot nor tethering works

You may have to call Rogers and have Mobile Hotspot enabled on your account. Since a couple years ago, any account with 1GB or over of data is able to use tether and Hotspot. Since you are coming from an iPhone plan, they may have to change something on your account to enable it.

In regards to tethering to iPads, I don't think it works. Since we got mobile Hotspot in the 9900 and also in the new OS10 phones, I haven't used tethering. In the past, it would tether to a MacBook pro. I don't have an iPad, so have never tried it. I have read that it doesn't work with an iPad, but the Mobile Hostspot should.

    Problem Resolved:

Rogers simply reset all my network connections on their end and it all worked. The tech support guy was baffled at first too, but he said sometimes the reset resolves minor issues like mine
