Okay so I have a BlackBerry Z30 and I updated to 10.3.1 and I believe that I'm not the only one that had this issue before, where you would make a phone call and it would take a second or three to make a sound and then completely connect. At times people would actually answer back to you immediately and then a pause would occur (with a shhck sound) and then you were able to talk. It's very annoying because people would hang up, thinking that the call was acting up. It's been reported here many times but I haven't been able to find a solution for it. but I think I know what is causing it. After trying everything from removing some of the screen reader things (yeah it wasn't it) I went down to smart dialing changed it from 3 seconds to this (pic) and it works. I mean tested it over and over.

Worth a shoot, I've made the change and will report back. Mind you OS 10.3.1.2708 has been a lot better in terms of frequency of this issue i.e. it doesn't happen all the time.

    Look! It's Zedzilla 30!

    I hope this work Jose,

If it does you are a good man. It is 1am in Sydney, so I will report back in 7 hours. I really do hope it works for everyone else.

Why would they have such a stupid option to have?

This option has nothing to do with regular calls. It's if you use smart dialing, which I believe is when you dial and automatically dial an extension afterwards.

Anyway, maybe it will help but I wouldn't hold my breath

I understand this and that's why I haven't tried but there could be a bug here and doing this has solved it for me I don't have that schkst sounds and lag on connection. I can speak and boom much better

It seems to have worked, I've made several calls today and noticed almost instant ringing after dialing. Before I would sit with the phone at my ear so long that I'd pull it down to see if the call was still active. None of that today. I don't know if it changed received call behavior but it seems to fix outbound calling lag...

Seems to have improved things with me too. The couple of seconds of static after the other party picks up seems to have gone. Looks good so far, thanks for the tip.

Hmm does it make a sound when it tries to connect? Or is it just performance lag? Because it might be a different issue for you. If you haven't tried resetting do so and then try this. Don't back up device settings in link. Try fresh and what not

    Hi Jose,

I have tried a reset and a hard reset each time but every time i call it receive I'm still getting the 2 to 3 second delay followed by the click sound then talk.

This has happened since they released the 10.3 OS Update in late March 2015.

    I'm over it!!!
