So I need USB OTG for a long road trip (about a month in total). I also need an S-Stripe pixel array (or anything that isn't Pentile, as it gives me nausea).

I was going to grab a month of Unlimited everything on TMOBILE (because I'll surely destroy a limited data plan).

Unfortunately the Z30 has been out of stock on BlackBerry's store for some time. But I only realized this after contacting customer support this morning. Too bad. Wanted one now.

Can anyone recommend a similar phone? Expandable storage, good battery life, USB OTG, non-pentile display? I'm guessing Android is my only option now.

Thanks for the advice. Sorry for an ugly topic of discussion, but I need something that can do the things the Z30 can.

That's alright, I was stupid, too. Apparently they're still shipping Z30s from March orders. Crazy. How are they unable to meet demand?

I'm in the US. I could go with Verizon, I guess. But I really wanted the tmo plan, even though coverage would be worse.

    eBay
    Amazon
shop.blackberry.com and get a white one (they seem to be instock)
Order one from Verizon - same price $499 and it is a "world phone".

And I can't in good conscience tote a giant white phone around. I so wish the other BB10 phones had USB A/B ports.

Thanks. I don't know which Amazon seller might be selling the -5 model. And Ebay wouldn't make it in time. Hmf.

Thanks for the advice. I loved Symbian, too.

And as for the poster two above, I realize that it's the 28th now. That's why I called customer support and was told the phone is still not available. Read my original post.

There are other places to buy a STA100-5, although the price is not what SBB is selling it for, and there is likely no warranty beyond the initial return period:

    Negri Electronics
    GSM Nation

Shop BlackBerry is not out of stock. My dad and I each bought one on Saturday two weeks ago, and they shipped the following Monday. (two days later). We both have them.

Odd, I waited on the phone to speak with the warehouse (or whomever it is that manages stock). After a long couple of waits, I was told that I would be placed on the backorder list if I tried to order the Z30. I'm not sure I'd want to risk it...but maybe.

That said, I'd sooner trust your anecdotal evidence than the lady on the phone who probably doesn't care and might not have actually checked stock.

Rogers in Canada sells the STA-5 as I have one. Mine shipped the same day about 4 weeks ago. I suspect a few other Canadian carriers also sell the STA-5.

You will probably need to re-navigate from rogers.com $600 CAD ~ $550 USD but I'm not sure of the procedure for purchasing off contract.

Once you actually click the black one, you get the "currently on backorder" message (which your experience might contradict.) The white apparently is in stock...according to the website, assuming it's accurate.

Just go on shopblackberry and ignore the 'backorder' notice. I ordered a black Z30
April 14, It was delivered April 19. Many others on CrackBerry have reported similar experiences recently.
