It is interesting that it is notably higher than the Z10 number, even if they are both wrong. Seeing what it shows in the CB10 app would also be interesting since it does show the right resolution for the Z10.
Where does one see screen resolution in the CB10 app? Or did you mean on the developer's end...??

I wouldn't put much weight behind that. Current hardware has resolution at 720x1180.

I'm not going to create my own thread, but if anyone has any specific asks on the Z30, feel free...

If you open the Web link in the CB10 app, the correct resolution is shown @ 768x1280. Just wondering if that will work on the Z30. The BlackBerry browser is wrong though.

    Comes in at 720x1280

(I'm guessing the 720x1180 reported by Phone Tester & AnTuTu Benchmark apps differs because of the back bar added by the android player)

On the Z30? Then it seems like that is what the resolution will be. I'm not too concerned if that can mean great battery life.

Hey Fnord, I was checking google (briefly) and didn't see physical size details online.

The thread How big will the z30 be? asked and I used some maths to come to the sizes: 143.6x73.8mm.

Can you please measure the Z30 and let us know if those are the correct details or correct them if need be?

    Thanks

I played with a Z30 tonight. Gorgeous design, solid construction, good heft and comfortable fit in the hand. A bit taller, wider and thicker than the Z10 but still easy to use one handed. The OS was silky smooth with no noticeable lag, the gestures were precise and the display was crisp and sharp. Don't know what the specs were nor which OS version it was running but I do know it won't be called the Z30 or the A10. It belongs to a beta tester who works at one of the mobile providers here in Barbados, he told me it won't be available in our market until the Christmas holidays. No prob, that'll be my Christmas gift to myself.

X10 makes more sense. I see 3 or 4 products that get hardware refreshes every year or so. Form factors will keep the same prefix and better hardware will get a higher number.

Z, Q and X will be the prefixes.

Only have a tape measure on hand so can't get too specific. Have it at 140x72mm (give or take)

The man is my friend and he allowed me to play with the phone for a few minutes, I didn't ask him if I could take pics of the phone. I just decided to give the CB family my take on the device, you don't have to believe that I actually used it.

Didn't see that...my bad. The phone reminds me of the Bold 9900 in terms of its build quality and weight, it even has the metal strip around the edges and a glass weave back but the strip at the bottom isn't metal. Nice phone, wish I could take it home with me.

Been playing with the Z30 for about two weeks now and I have to say that it feels better in my hands than the Z10 but I still prefer to write with the Q10 while in portrait. The fact that the keys don't appear as low because of the silver lip on top of the bezel throws off the balance a little. That being said when typing in landscape it does feel much better.
In regards to the screen resolution, looking at properties of a screen shot shows 1280x720.

That silver chin looks cheap and doesn't belong on a clean modern design.

So either my math was terrible or you're the worst handy-man in existence. :-P haha cool thanks for the effort!

Can you upload a screenshot of the quick-menu? I am excited about changes to that!

Pity...I'm on 10.2.0.1047 and they are the old ones with rotation lock...I really want screen brightness and actually a customizable quick-menu kind of like you could customise your side buttons in BBOS.

    Mmm...CB10! Just the tip though...

Z30 start oktober/november is fine but also upgrade the Z10 with 1,7 Ghz, good battery and 32 Gb . sell like hell november/december with a Z10 plus. just upgrade. lot of people like 4 inch mobile.

O if Z30 will be with 12Mp camera so does Z10plus or just get a better lens F 1.8 or lower and stay on 8Mp
