I guess it was automatic updates. This option is not good, especially if it turns on by himself (it did on my device after the last update). Downloading updates is something that hardly depends on the users data volume and location and should NEVER just run by default behind his back. This could suck a GB over night and you have no clue what's going on. This is something for Apple users ... Furthermore updates are rather something to be controlled by the user, he decides to do it or not, especially if he can get serious problems later. The settings app should indeed show a warning message before switching this ON.

Diagnostic Messages is an option deep in the settings. With this you turn on sending messages about the status of your device from time to time to RIM. I never used that because of security and privacy reasons. I don't know how much this is.
Sigh and don't know either. I'm new on this platform I just got the z30 earlier March, came from BlackBerry Torch. So just wondering how I managed to finish 3GB within a week and I found out it was twitter app and I signed it out and bought another 3GB data within a week I have used up to 1.5 GB without any downloads and see System is doing same thing as Twitter. Really crazy tho

Yeah, but you will see you get the "background noise" far below 1 MB per day (without social apps). Your BB does really not much at all by himself, just a HTTP request every five minutes to check if the connection is still alive.

One remaining topic is email. If your Hub polls email inboxes all the day you get also a lot of traffic, depending on the amount of data you have there. If you have a modern IMAP server configure your email accounts to use the Push option and set the polling interval to "Manually". In my case this reduced the traffic from about 1.7MB per day to some ten kB.

You must also see: receiving data means also sending requests, all day long, this costs also a lot of energy. High network traffic is one of the main reasons for battery drain so many people lament about.

Videos chew up a lot of data, especially if they are HD.

Hey, does it log your battery percent usage for spotify properly too? Mine always says 0.01%

I didn't really wanna reload OS from scratch, but if it's logging both normally for you maybe I should...
