Hey guys so i've had a black Z10 since about feb 12 of last year and I enjoy the phone and its has only gotten so much better with all the os updates. I'm currently on a rogers 1GB plan and paying the standard rate for that plan. My question to all of you that have made the switch my company is switching all works phones from rogers to bell and I can get a Z30 for 0 dollars and bell will buy out my existing contract which will be 2 years left come februray. i'm a regular member on this site so i've already done my research and I'm aware of what the Z30 brings to the Table vs the Z10. So i'm kinda of on the fence right now because I was oringinally only going to upgrade to the successor to the Z30.

    What would you do..?

I did the exact same thing. The only thing that scares me is a 3 year contract.

Also the successor to the Z30 probably won't appear until sometime in 2015 as it appears only a Q10 successor is in the works for 2014.

Honestly its up to you. I have used every single BB10 device , Z10 (10.5 months), Q10 (1.5 months), Q5 (a couple hours) and Z30 (recently). The Z30 is definitely BlackBerry's best phone to date, that being said, who knows when we will see a successor to the Z30 and if you are willing to wait for that. If you want you can always get the Z30 and ask the carrier to unlock it after i believe 90 days for free and when the new successor comes out you can try to sell the z30 and get the new one for some extra on top of your sale. Personally thats what im going to do, but for the time being i love the Z30 and will stick with it until another 5" successor comes around.

It can't be 3 years if it's on Bell. It's a maximum 2 years in Canada now.

wait it out,,, Z30 is barely current tech,,, in a 6 months, it'll be ancient,,, i, too, am waiting on the Z50 or whatever's next,,, & being commited to anything for 3 yrs is scary,,, just ask all my ex-girlfriends...

If the OP waits that long, then he'll always be waiting for the next best thing.
0 Dollars is a REALLY great deal and that doesn't happen very often.

the Z30 is definitely a 2 to 3 year phone. If I had the choice, I would be here telling everyone how I got my Z30 for 0 dollars on a 3 year deal.

if your work is paying for the phone, why not?

but if you're paying for it. Its only two years now, not three. Data plans at bell are terrible right now, so you might want to consider that as well.

To everyone saying there are no 36 month contracts corporate plans are not regulated by the crtc so they are still 36 months.

Kyle I work for one of the major lawfirms in toronto and i'm sure they are also a client of ours so your mileage may very on what you can get out of them.

They are buying out like 200+ contracts I doubt you will be able to get anywhere as an individual walking into a store.

It can't be 3 years if it's on Bell. It's a maximum 2 years in Canada now.
With the deal they are giving our firm it has to be 3 years.

It would be a 3GB data plan with unlimited mins(assuming this is local calling)
    500 Cnd Long distance
    Enchanced voicemail
    Activation waived
    Unlimited Messaging /text/picture/video within canada
    For 65$

I'm planning to acquire a second Z30 in a similar way. I love my existing Z30 very much and use it constantly. Would I recommend a Z30 to anybody? Yes, absolutely. I almost always install the OS leaks as they become available too, and the ability to install .apk files on the fly is a welcomed feature for anybody requiring a need to install Android apps. Not all the apps people want are going to work, but whatever, Z30 is a really good phone.

I wouldn't. The Z30 isn't exactly a high end device to start out with, and by the middle of this year it will probably be obsolete all together.
