I am upgrading from a 9930 to a Z30 and need help transferring my data b/c Verizon won't do it?

I am upgrading from a 9930 to a Z30. Verizon is my carrier, and they will only activate the new phone, but will not transfer any of the data from the 9930 to the Z30.

How do I do this?

Is it something that is simple from my desktop software? (The 9930 was my first BB so I've never had to do this before.)

I assume you use BlackBerry Desktop Software for your 9930's backups. BB10 devices do not use that, they use BlackBerry Link. So download/install Link and follow the Device Switch guide.

But really, now that you're on a more powerful, cloud-oriented platform, consider moving your data to the cloud and never worrying about syncing and backups again.

I'm sure you already transferred your data, but BlackBerry Device Switch is an app the BlackBerry came out with for OS7 and OS10 devices, as well as Android and iOS, in order to make data, files and contact transfers seamless! :)
