Anyway just wanted to write my first cb post from my z30. And I do believe my unlock code just arrived.

You aren't really paying for a reservation, the 40 dollars gets applies to your bill. It's pretty much a down payment

I just came back from best buy in Richmond hill and they had a dummy unit of the Z30 and wow it felt amazing in hand and was nice and heavy it actually felt like a phone not like a toy it's a pretty serious phone in build quality and feel looks like it can take a beating can't wait hurry up Rogers!!!

Also why is everyone wanting this device from rogers? Considering they are getting everyone to put a down payment they could easily charge you 659 or 699 like bell is. Hit up telus and get it unlocked. Cost me 27 bucks to unlock and I'm working just fine on Rogers, even using my old large sim cut down to micro size. Not going to cough up for LTE just yet I don't think.

It gets refunded when your phone ships to the store you chose. At least it did when I reserved my Z10 - says in the fine print on the reservation site.

And they had no problem selling to you off contract? No strings attached? I am also with rogers. I went to sherway they said they cant. Best buy No and Bloor and Jane No. If you say they are selling off contract at Upper Canada Mall i'll go first thing tomorrow.

Considering that they weren't going to carry the Z30 in the first place, I think it would take some time compared to other Canadian carriers because they would have to go through product testing

For me it's not about waiting for Rogers (even though I'm a Rogers customer) . Rather it's about waiting to see who's first out of the gate to offer the white z30.

Easier for me ,although I don't want to wait for it, I also do not want to go through the hassle of unlocking it. I debated going to bell or telus, but just decide to wait a couple weeks. Just checked and I'm at number 8 @rogers,

Yep bought it off contract for 600+tax. I called ahead to check stock at tbooth (none yet) and then called telus and they said they had stock. Walked in, waaited 2 minutes for the rep to finish up with another customer and then I had my phone and was out the doo rlike a giddy child. Held that thing so tight all the way to the car - ain't no one gonna snatch up my z30!

Hope you get one, it's such a nice phone. Light useage I went from Thursday till Saturday night on a charge, with maybe a 500mah boost while I synced some songs Sorry for the slow reply!

With Rogers saying they weren't going to carry the Z30, I called them and cancelled my account (and paid the early cancellation fee). I told them I was leaving since they said the weren't going to support a Canadian company.

I switched to Bell and have had my Z30 for two days. Why wait? All the carriers have the same plans and pricing - no competition that I can see.

Call Bell and go to Sales. Tell them you are thinking about changing carriers and ask them what they can do for you. I got a porting credit, had them waive the activation fees, and got a better plan than what is posted.

And Rogers made it look like some big real they would carry it. With everyone posting how they wait, and then go elsewhere... it will only " show " Rogers they were right and can't sell. it's a self fulfilling prophecy.
